The Blackhawks drafted Tomkins in the seventh-round in 2012. Following a four-year stint at Ohio State University, Tomkins turned pro and joined the Blackhawks affiliates in the ECHL and AHL. He spent all of 2019 in the ECHL before starting 13 games with Rockford (AHL) in 2020, going 5-7-1 with a 3.12 GAA and .896 SV%.
McDavid was listed as a game-time decision for Monday's game but ended up getting scratched. He missed yesterday's practice but was back on the ice for Wednesday's morning skate and will play vs. the Jets. Since January 1st, McDavid is second in points-per-game, with 32 points (11G / 21A) in 21 games (1.52 P/gm).
McDavid missed the last six games with a quad injury but will play tonight in Los Angeles. McDavid is expected to start with Sam Gagner and Alex Chiasson on his wings and returns to the lineup with 17 points (8G / 9A) in his last 12 games.
McDavid left Monday's practice with what was originally called a "bruise" or "charley horse" but GM Ken Holland called it a quad injury on Tuesday. Missing 2-to-3 weeks would mean that McDavid will miss eight-to-13 games, which puts the Oilers playoff hopes in serious jeopardy.

Kapanen was forced to leave Monday's game in Nashville with an arm injury but he was back on the ice for Tuesday's practice and is expected to play tonight. Kapanen has been held pointless in his last four games but has nine points (2G / 7A) in his last 12.
Jones played in the last 14 games before the Ducks bye week, scoring just two goals, giving him seven points (5G / 2A) in 37 games on the season. Look for him to be back in his regular spot with Sam Steel and Ondrej Kase on Monday.
Janmark is feeling sick and will be a gamete decision against the Sabres. Corey Perry served his five-game suspension and will return to the lineup on Thursday and could be the one to replace Janmark if he can't go.
Kulak has suited up in three games but will not play Monday vs. the Flames. Ben Chiarot returns from a two-game absence and will replace Kulak on the blueline.
