Markstrom will start Thursday vs. the Predators.

Markstrom lost his last time out stopping 23 of 26 shots (.885 SV%) in a 3-2 loss to division and provincial rival Edmonton. Markstrom has been okay this season despite his impressive 4-1-0 record, posting a .903 SV% and 2.60 GAA. He faces a struggling Nashville Predators squad who has dropped seven of their last eight contests.

Brad Marchand will not play the second of the Bruins back-to-back Friday

Marchand is just returning from offseason hip surgery and will likely need a night's rest after returning almost a month ahead of schedule for the Bruins' 5-1 victory last night. Marchand did not miss a beat as he had two goals and an assist while playing 17:31 TOI. He will be back in the Bruins' lineup their next time out as this is nothing more than a day of rest.

Yesterday the Bruins said that Marchand would not play the next two games, but Marchand will be in the lineup vs. Detroit on Thursday. The Bruins said he will not play in the back-to-back set, so he'll sit Friday in Columbus. Marchand will debut on a line with Patrice Bergeron and Jake DeBrusk.

Marchand was initially expected to be back by late-November but it sounds like he will play in the next week or two, putting him way ahead of schedule. Marchand, who had 80 points (32G / 48A) in 70 games last season, is expected to skate on a line with Patrice Bergeron and Jake DeBrusk and on PP1 when he's healthy.

Markstrom stopped 25 of 27 shots (.926 SV%) in an impressive 3-2 overtime victory over Carolina his last time out. He has struggled so far in 2022-23 despite having an undefeated record (3-0-0) as he has a .882 SV% and 2.93 GAA. They will face the Pittsburgh Penguins team who are coming off their first regulation loss Monday as they were doubled down by the Oilers 6-3.

Markstrom stopped 19 of 21 shots winning his second straight game Tuesday as Calgary beat Vegas 3-2. Calgary is undefeated at 3-0-0 but Markstrom has not looked his usual self, amassing a .891 SV% and a 2.50 GAA in two winning starts so far in 2022-23. His Flames will host the 2-1-0 Buffalo Sabres who are coming off a 4-2 victory over Edmonton on Thursday.
