The Blue Jackets have placed Sergei Bobrovsky (finger) on injured reserve.

Bobrovsky fractured his finger when he was struck by a puck in Blue Jackets' practice on Monday. Columbus' star netminder is expected to miss 1-2 weeks so Anton Forsberg has been recalled on an emergency basis to back-up Curtis McElhinney. Bob is 4-4-0 with a 2.81 GAA and .908 SV% to begin the season.

Bobrovsky allowed three goals on 33 shots in a loss to the Ducks on Friday. He has alternated wins and losses in his last six starts, but has allowed more than three goals just once and carries a 2.47 GAA and .920 SV% into today's meeting with the Kings. Bobrovsky allowed four goals on 37 shots in a 5-4 comeback win over the Sharks last night. With Curtis McElhinney on IR the Blue Jackets will go to Bob again tonight in Anaheim. It is a tough matchup, but Bobrovsky is rocking a 2.37 GAA and .923 SV% going head-to-head with a rookie, it would be hard to put him on your bench.

Reinhart will be a healthy scratch on Thursday.

After getting back into the lineup last night, Reinhart will be back in the pressbox tonight for the second time in three games. However, Reinhart will be back in the lineup on Saturday against the Sharks. With Reinhart coming out of the lineup, the Sabres will put Nikita Zadorov in the lineup and go with seven defensemen.

As expected, Bobrovsky in goal for Columbus.

Bobrovsky stopped 17 of 18 shots after replacing Curtis McElhinney when he was injured las Saturday. With so many days off between games, Goalie Bob will be back between the pipes against San Jose. He has three wins in four starts with a 2.00 GGA and .931 SV%.

Reinhart will be back in the Sabres lineup on Wednesday.

Brian Flynn stayed on for extra work at the Sabres morning skate which means that Reinhart will get back in the lineup after being a healthy scratch on Saturday. He will centre the fourth line which means he will probably see less than 10 minutes of ice-time for the third straight game.

Sam Reinhart
Reinhart will travel with the Sabres on their upcoming four-game road trip.

Reinhart was a healthy scratch on Saturday, but is still eligible to play in four more games before the first-year of his entry level contract is burned. He has no points and a minus-1 rating in five games and is not going to produce as long as the Sabres have him playing on the fourth line. It looks inevitable that he will be sent back to juniors.

Bobrovsky starts in goal for the Blue Jackets.

Bobrovsky allowed three goals on 34 shots in a loss to the Stars on Tuesday. It was his first loss of the season, but it was an otherwise decent night. Tonight, he will make his fourth straight start tonight and he enters play with a 2.01 GAA and .927 SV% in his first three outings. He draws a good matchup tonight with the Flames in town.

Reinhart will play on the Sabres fourth line and get reduced minutes on Tuesday.

Reinhart has no points, two shots and a minus-1 rating while averaging 12:47 TOI in his first three NHL games. The Sabres can keep him up for nine-games without burning a year of his entry level contract, so going to the fourth line seems like he is destined to be returned to juniors after the nine-game stint.

Bobrovsky stopped 24 of 26 shots in the Blue Jacekts 5-2 win over the Rangers on Saturday. Bobrovsky has started the season 2-0 with a 1.50 GAA and .938 SV%, despite having an injury ravaged lineup playing in front of him. Bobrovsky will be back in between the pipes for the Blue Jackets on Saturday.

Bobrovsky allowed a single goal on 22 shots in a win over the Sabres in the season opener. Tonight, Bob gets the nod in the Blue Jackets home opener against a Rangers team who are starting their backup. Bob was 1-2 with a 2.61 GAA and .925 SV% against the Rangers a season ago.

Sam Reinhart will make his NHL debut on Thursday.

Reinhart, 18, was the second overall pick in this summer's draft. He will start his NHL career on the Sabres' second line with Cody Hodgson and Brian Gionta. "They're obviously very smart players and good players," Reinhart said of his linemates. "I feel if I move the puck to them and get myself open, we're going to create a lot of chances. I feel comfortable on that line."

Sam Reinhart
To no ones surprise, Bobrovsky will start the Blue Jackets season opener.

Bobrovsky saw a ton of rubber in the preseason. He faced 134 shots, more than any other netminder and posted a 3-1 record with a 1.92 GAA and .948 SV%. The Blue Jackets will need him to be that sharp to start the season because their lineup is really depleted due to injuries, but Goalie Bob should be up for the task. He draws a nice matchup for Game 1 vs. the Sabres.

The Panthers have signed restricted free-agent Dmitri Kulikov to a three-year, $13 million deal.

Kulikov, 23, had a career-high eight goals (19 points) but a career-worst minus-26 rating in 81 games with the Panthers in 2013-14. Kulikov did have solid possession numbers (51.2 CF%) for the second straight year and he'll be just 24-years-old in October so he should continue to improve his NHL game this season.

Bobrovsky gets the nod in a must-win game 6 for the Blue Jackets.

Bobrovsky stopped 48 of 50 shots, but it was not enough to carry the Blue Jackets to a win, as they lost 3-1 in game 5. Bob has seen a ton a rubber in this series. The Penguins have averaged 38 shots per game and Bob has responded with a 3.00 GAA and .916 SV%. He will look to keep Columbus' season alive tonight as they host the Pens for game 6.
