Los Angeles has signed Taylor Ward to a two-year extension worth $875,000 AAV ($1.75 million total)

Ward made his season debut earlier this month and has been productive in a middle-six role, scoring four points (2G / 2A) in nine games. The undrafted 27-year-old forward has five points (3G / 2A) in 10 career games.

Turcotte (upper-body) did not practice on Monday and is considered day-to-day.

Turcotte did not practice on Monday and it is unclear if he will be ready to play when the Kings return to action on Tuesday against the Detroit Red Wings. The 24-year-old Turcotte has 12 points (3G / 9A) in 49 games this season.

Kuemper (upper-body) is okay and will travel with Los Angeles on their upcoming road trip.

Kuemper missed two weeks in mid-December due to an upper-body injury, and though it's unclear if this injury is related, his presence at practice on Thursday is an encouraging sign. Anton Forsberg will likely be between the pipes if Kuemper is not ready to play on Sunday against the St. Louis Blues.

Kuemper (upper-body) left Tuesday’s game vs. New York and did not return.

Kuemper missed two weeks in mid-December due to an upper-body injury, and it's unclear whether this most recent ailment is related. An update should be provided on the 35-year-old goalie before they return to action on Sunday against the St. Louis Blues. If Kuemper misses any time, expect Anton Forsberg to occupy the Kings' crease.

Doughty (illness) will not play against the Rangers on Tuesday.

Doughty was unfortunately a surprise scratch on Tuesday, with the Kings not announcing his absence prior to the start of warmups. Los Angeles will hope Doughty feels better in time for the Kings' game in St. Louis on Saturday. Jacob Moverare will draw into the lineup in his place.

Kuemper will start against the Rangers on Tuesday.

The Kings will go back to Kuemper between the pipes for Tuesday's game against the Rangers, as he looks to snap a personal five-game losing streak. Kuemper was unfortunate not to end his winless drought in his last start, allowing two goals on 28 shots in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Ducks on Friday. The 35-year-old brings a 12-9-9 record and .905 SV% into Tuesday night's matchup, where the Kings enter action at -180 on the money line.
