Malott was an undrafted free agent out of Cornell University and will make his NHL debut after 80 AHL games with Manitoba over the last two seasons. The 25-year-old has 18 goals and 10 assists (28 points) in 46 AHL games this season.
Edmundson has missed the first 57 games of the season with a back injury but is set to make his season debut vs. the Kraken. Edmundson had three goals and 10 assists (13 points) in 55 games with the Canadiens a season ago.
Doughty participated in Wednesday's practice but will not be available on Thursday. Doughty is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury and will be replaced by Jordan Spence, who will be making his NHL debut.
Pavel Buchnevich is out with a concussion, so Brown will play for the first time since February 19th. Brown, who has three goals and three assists (six points) in 18 games this year, will centre the third line with Brandon Saad and Ivan Barbashev on his wings.
