Rittich will start Thursday in Winnipeg.

Rittich gave up four goals on 36 shots in the Flames loss to the Lightning last Thursday. Rittich has lost two straight but remains a solid 3-2-1 with a 2.47 GAA and .920 SV% in seven December appearances. Even though he’s been steady all season, Rittich is a risky option in Winnipeg—the Jets are 13-4-2 on home-ice and rank fourth in the NHL in goal-scoring (3.53 GF/pg).

Copley will start Saturday in Ottawa.

Copley allowed three goals on 29 shots in the Capitals win over the Sabres on December 15th. Copley is riding a three-game personal winning streak, stopping 80 of the 88 shots (.909 SV%) he faced. Copley has played well enough to record wins behind a high-powered offence, going 7-2-1 in 10 starts and makes a strong spot-start option tonight in Ottawa.

Pheonix Copley
Kuemper will start Thursday vs. the Canadiens.

Kuemper allowed three goals on 32 shots in the Coyotes loss to the Islanders on Tuesday. Kuemper has dropped all three of his games since returning to the Coyotes crease, allowing a combined 10 goals on 91 shots (.890 SV%). Kuemper has had his moments this season but has been sub-par on most nights and is a risky option even against a Canadiens team on the tail-end of a back-to-back.

Darcy Kuemper
Rittich will start Thursday vs. the Lightning.

Rittich stopped 26 of 28 shots in the Flames loss in Dallas on Tuesday. It was still a strong performance but the loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Rittich, who has allowed just seven goals on the last 126 shots (.944 SV%) that he has faced. Rittich is 5-0-1 with a 3.09 GAA and .881 SV% in seven appearances at the Scotiabank Saddledome this year.

Kuemper will start Tuesday vs. the Islanders.

Kuemper allowed three goals on 33 shots in the Coyotes loss in Buffalo last Thursday. Kuemper lost both of his starts since retuning from injury while allowing a combined seven goals on 59 shots (.881 SV%). The Islanders present a nice home matchup for Kuemper but a goalie with a career .912 SV% is difficult to trust regardless of matchup.

Rittich will start Tuesday in Dallas.

Rittich stopped 26 of 28 shots in the Flames win in St. Louis on Sunday. Rittich started both games of the Flames’ weekend back-to-back, winning both games while stopping 60 of 63 shots (.952 SV%). In his first start against the Stars, Rittich allowed four goals on 28 shots in a 4-3 overtime loss (Nov.28).

Copley stopped 27 of 29 shots in the Capitals win in Arizona on December 6th. Copley has won three of his last four starts while allowing 11 goals on 107 shots (.897 SV%). Tonight he will take on a Sabres team that has won two of their last seven games (2-3-2).

Jones is expected to make his NHL debut on Friday.

Jones was recalled from Bakersfield (AHL) after Oscar Klefbom and Kris Russell was injured. Jones sat as a healthy scratch last night but is expected to replace Chris Wideman on Friday. Jones is Seth Jones’ brother but doesn’t have the exact same skillset. Jones is a physical defenseman with a little offensive upside, picking up 12 points (2G / 10A) in 21 games with the Condors this season.

Caleb Jones
Rittich will start Saturday afternoon in Minnesota.

Rittich allowed one goal on five shots after replacing Mike Smith in the Flames win over the Flyers on Wednesday. With Smith listed as day-to-day, Rittich could get the next couple of games. The 26-year-old is 4-3-0 with a 1.72 GAA, .946 SV% and one shutout on the road this season.
