Forsberg will start Monday in Toronto.

Forsberg was acquired along with Brandon Saad in the trade that sent Artemi Panarin to the Blue Jackets this summer. Tonight will be his Blackhawks debut and he has had a hard time in his young NHL career. In 10 career appearances, Forsberg has a 4.02 GAA and .879 SV%, but was an impressive 27-17-2 with a 2.28 GAA and .926 SV% in the AHL last year.

Logan Brown will make his NHL debut on Thursday.

Brown, 19, was the No.11 overall pick in 2016 and is coming off of a year in which he had 40 points (14G / 26A) in 35 games with Windsor (OHL). Brown cracked the opening night roster thanks to a preseason injury to fellow centre Colin White, but he won’t carry a lot of fantasy value as he’s expected to start on the fourth line, but should see some PP time.

The Capitals have re-signed Pheonix Copley to a two-year, $1.3M extension.

Copley was brought over from St. Louis as a part of the Kevin Shattenkirk and went 11-5-0 with a 2.15 GAA and .931 SV% in 16 games with Hershey (AHL) and was 5-4 with a 2.13 GAA and .933 in nine AHL playoff starts. Copley will start the 2017-18 season in Hershey.

The Blackhawks have signed Anton Forsberg to a two-year contract extension.

Forsberg was acquired from Columbus as a part of the Panarin-Saad trade last week and was a restricted free agent. The 24-year-old was 27-17-2 with a 2.28 GAA, .926 SV% and four shutouts in 51 games with Cleveland (AHL) last season. With Scott Darling now in Carolina, Forsberg is expected to be Corey Crawford’s backup this season. However, the Swedish netminder has an ugly 4.02 GAA and .879 SV% in just 10 career NHL games.

Kuemper will start Friday in Florida.

Kuemper allowed five goals on 29 shots in the Wild’s loss in Winnipeg on February 28th. Devan Dubnyk started seven of the last eight games including last night, so Kuemper will start tonight in Florida. He has gone 4-2-2 with a 3.69 GAA and .896 SV% on the road this season.
