Eriksson Ek missed Sunday's game in Chicago with an upper-body injury that he suffered Saturday vs. the Flyers. With Eriksson Ek going on IR, the Wild have recalled Luke Johnson and Nico Sturm from Iowa (AHL).
Sturm has been called up on several occasions this season but has yet to appear in a game with the Wild in 2019-20. The 24-year-old centre could make his season debut this week with Joel Eriksson Ek going on IR.

It is believed that Spurgeon is dealing with a broken bone in his right hand but the Wild are calling it an "upper-body" injury. Spurgeon will miss at least two weeks, so look for Nick Seeler to replace Spurgeon on Thursday and moving forward.
