Zuccarello returned to the Rangers lineup on Friday but will be sidelined again on Saturday. It’s unclear if they Rangers are being cautious with the groin injury or if he suffered a setback, yet again. Tim Gettinger will replace him against the Capitals.

Zuccarello has missed six of the last seven games but is expected to play on Friday. Zuccarello has three goals and seven assists (10 points) in 16 games this season.

Zuccarello has played just once in the last seven games, but hopes to be back on Friday afternoon. Zuccarello would replace Cody McLeod, who is out with a fractured hand, and returns with 10 points (3G / 7A) in 16 games this season.

Petersen stopped all 29 shots that he faced in the Kings shutout win in St. Louis on Monday. Petersen has been great since coming up from the AHL, going 2-1-0 while stopping 101 of 106 shots (.953 SV%) in three games. Petersen will try to keep his roll going against an Avalanche team that is currently third in the NHL in scoring (3.55 GF/pg).

Petersen has been excellent in his first two NHL starts, turning aside 72 of the 77 shots (.935 SV%) that he has faced. Tonight he will be making his third start in four nights against a Blues team that is averaging 3.11 goals for per game (13th in the NHL).

Foligno missed Saturday’s game in Carolina to tend to a family matter, but is expected to replace Oliver Bjorkstrand in the Blue Jackets lineup in Toronto. Foligno has 12 points (6G / 6A) in 19 games this season.




Zuccarello returned to the Rangers lineup on Thursday, but is nicked up again and will not play on Saturday. The newly acquired Ryan Strome will replace Zuccarello and make his Rangers debut.

Foligno will be scratched on Saturday, but Artemi Panarin and Riley Nash are expected to be back in the Blue Jackets lineup after missing Thursday’s game with illness. Expect Foligno to be back in the lineup in Toronto on Monday.

Eriksson will sit on Saturday so he can “reset” according to head coach Bruce Boudreau. Zach Parise (illness) is expected to draw back in to replace him.

Petersen stopped 15 of 16 shots after replacing Peter Budaj in the Kings 5-1 loss to the Maple Leafs on Tuesday. With Budaj sick, Petersen will likely make his first career start tonight in Chicago. The 24-year-old has a career .903 SV% in 51 career games with the Ontario Reign (AHL).

Petersen stopped 15 of 16 shots after replacing Peter Budaj in the Kings 5-1 loss to the Maple Leafs on Tuesday. With Budaj sick, Petersen will likely make his first career start tonight in Chicago. The 24-year-old has a career .903 SV% in 51 career games with the Ontario Reign (AHL).

The Rangers did not hold a morning skate on Thursday, but Zuccarello practiced on Wednesday and is expected to play on vs. the Islanders. Zuccarello has missed the last three games and has 10 points (3G / 7A) in 15 games this season.

Gleason had one assist in two games with the Stars during his call-up. He heads back to Texas where he has recorded six points (2G / 4A) in 11 games.
