Montembeault will likely start Thursday vs. the Panthers.

Montembeault stopped 21 of 23 shots (.913 SV%) for his second-straight win as he beat the Columbus Blue Jackets in his previous start. The 26-year-old has unexpectedly been the better of the two Canadien goaltenders, with his 15-14-3 record, 3.28 GAA and .905 SV%. He takes on the Florida Panthers, who snapped a four-game losing streak with a 3-2 overtime win over Toronto last night.

Kahkonen allowed four goals on 33 shots (.879 SV%) for his ninth-straight loss as he was defeated by the New York Islanders in his previous start. The 26-year-old has had a horrendous 2022-23, with his 8-17-6 record, 3.89 GAA and .879 SV%. He takes on the Calgary Flames, who have lost three of their last four games but are second in the NHL in shots per game.

Laine will miss 2-4 weeks with a triceps strain suffered in practice on Thursday.

Laine's season of incredibly bad luck continues as he suffered a tricep strain in practice Thursday and will not be forced to miss 2-4 weeks. The 24-year-old left winger had 22 goals, 30 assists, 184 SOG, 16 PIMs and a -12 plus/minus through 55 games this season prior to the injury.

Evans (lower-body) will be back in the Canadiens lineup on Thursday.

Evans has been out since January 14th due to a lower-body injury but will draw back into the Canadiens' lineup Thursday as they take on the Boston Bruins. The 26-year-old had two goals, nine assists, 42 SOG, 20 PIMs and a -8 plus/minus through 43 games this season prior to his injury.

Jake Evans is a possibility to return Thursday vs. Boston (lower-body).

Evans has been out since January 14th after injuring his leg vs. the New York Islanders but has a strong possibility to return Thursday vs. Boston. The 26-year-old has two goals, nine assists, 42 SOG, 20 PIMs and a -8 plus/minus through 43 games prior to his injury.

Dach (lower-body) will be back in the Canadiens lineup on Tuesday.

Dach last played for Montreal on February 14th due to a lower-body injury but will be back in the Canadiens lineup Tuesday. The 22-year-old was enjoying his most productive season to date prior to his injury, with 12 goals, 23 assists, 99 SOG, 43 PIMs and a -4 plus/minus through 54 games prior to his injury.

Montembeault will start Tuesday vs. the Lightning.

Montembeault allowed four goals on 40 shots (.900 SV%) for his second-straight loss as he was beaten by the Tampa Bay Lightning his last time between the pipes. The 26-year-old has been the better of the two Canadien goaltenders, with his 13-14-3 record, 3.36 GAA and .904 SV%. He will face Tampa Bay yet again, who snapped a three-game winning steak with a 5-2 loss to New Jersey last game.

Montembeault's last start was interesting; he started, was pulled, and then returned to the crease while failing to pick up a decision in a 9-5 loss to Florida while stopping 21 of 24 shots (.875 SV%). The 26-year-old has been the better of the two Montreal netminders this season, with his 13-13-3 record, 3.34 GAA and .904 SV%. He will face Tampa Bay, who has won their last two games and are seventh in the NHL in goals-per-game.
