Bowey is a former second-round pick (2013) who started the year with the Capitals but has been a healthy scratch a lot recently. Bowey has one goal and five assists (six points) in 33 games this season. The 23-year-old is a strong skater, good passer and was a tremendous hitter in juniors but hasn’t shown it as frequently in the NHL. He should settle in as a third-pairing defenseman in Detroit for now and the Red Wings hope he can continue to grow into a top-4 defenseman.

Byron was listed as a game-time decision for Tuesday’s game and activating him from IR confirms that he will return to the lineup. Dale Weise was sent to Laval (AHL) to clear a roster spot for Byron.

Byron has missed the last six games but was on the ice for the morning skate and could return Tuesday vs. the Blue Jackets. Byron has 10 goals and nine assists (19 points) in 36 games this season.

Price allowed three goals on 38 shots in the Canadiens loss in Nashville on Thursday. Price has lost two straight while allowing a combined seven goals on 70 shots (.900 SV%). Price allowed four goals on 36 shots in a 4-1 loss in his first game against the Lightning.

Price allowed four goals on 32 shots in the Canadiens loss to the Maple Leafs last Saturday. The loss snapped a seven-game winning streak for Price, who will face the Predators for the second time this season. Price stopped 28 of 31 shots in a 4-1 loss in the first meeting (Jan.5).

Price stopped 24 of the 25 shots that he faced in the Canadiens win over the Ducks on Tuesday. Price is riding a six-game winning streak, position a 1.33 GAA, .957 SV% and one shutout in the process. So far this season, Price is 12-9-2 with a 2.63 GAA, .908 SV% and two shutouts on home-ice.

Price surrendered three goals on 24 shots in the Canadiens win over the Oilers on Sunday. Price has been on-fire as of late, winning five straight starts while posting an impressive 1.39 GAA, .957 SV% and one shutout. He has been excellent and has the best matchup possible tonight. Anaheim played in Toronto last night, rank last in the NHL in goals/per game and have lost 16 of their last 18 (2-12-4).

Price will not be available for Saturday’s game vs. the Devils, so Michael McNiven has been recalled from Laval (AHL) to backup Antti Niemi. This one-game suspension isn’t a big deal considering the Habs have a back-to-back on Saturday/Sunday and Niemi likely would have started one of the games regardless. Price will face the Oilers on Sunday.

Price allowed one goal on 35 shots in the Canadiens win in Columbus last Friday. Price has been exceptional in his last three outings, going 3-0-0 while stopping 103 of the 106 shots that he has faced (.972 SV%). Tonight he draws an excellent matchup vs. a hot but banged up Coyotes team that is on the tail-end of a back-to-back.

Byron’s suspension means that he will not play Friday in Columbus, Saturday vs. the Flyers or next Wednesday vs. the Coyotes. Charles Hudon and/or Matthew Peca will likely replace Byron on Friday.

Price stopped 41 of 43 shots in the Canadiens win in Boston on Monday. Price has been excellent in his last two starts, stopping 69 of 71 shots (.972 SV%). Price has not faced Columbus this season but comes in at 9-4-2 with a 2.49 GAA, .922 SV% and one shutout on the road.
