Montembeault will play in his second career NHL game with James Reimer serving as his backup. The 22-year-old, former third-round pick was 13-14-3 with a 3.16 GAA and .901 SV% in 37 games with Springfield (AHL) at the time of his call-up. Montembeault allowed four goals on 26 shots in the Panthers 4-3 OT loss to the Hurricanes in his first career start (Mar.2).

Byron was listed as a game-time decision for Tuesday’s game and activating him from IR confirms that he will return to the lineup. Dale Weise was sent to Laval (AHL) to clear a roster spot for Byron.

Danault missed the morning skate because his wife is due to deliver their first child any time now. Depending on what happens this afternoon, Danault could miss Tuesday’s game.

Byron has missed the last six games but was on the ice for the morning skate and could return Tuesday vs. the Blue Jackets. Byron has 10 goals and nine assists (19 points) in 36 games this season.

Byron’s suspension means that he will not play Friday in Columbus, Saturday vs. the Flyers or next Wednesday vs. the Coyotes. Charles Hudon and/or Matthew Peca will likely replace Byron on Friday.

Blais has split his season between the AHL and NHL, picking up just one assist in 16 games with the Blues. During his time with the Rampage, the 22-year-old has 11 points (4G / 7A) in 19 games.
