Allen is week-to-week with a lower-body injury.

Allen who was injured in Saturday’s game in Anaheim and sat out Sunday’s contest. It wasn’t immediately clear how serious Allen’s injury was, but the Blues announced that he week-to-week, which means he will miss at least a few weeks. With Allen out, the Blues turn to Brian Elliott as their starter and Jordan Binnington as the backup. Elliott is 6-4-4 with a 2.33 GAA and .919 SV% this season.

Markstrom starts Monday vs. the Panthers.

Markstrom allowed three goals on 35 shots in the Canucks loss to the Lightning on Saturday. Since taking over for the injured Ryan Miller, Markstrom has gone 4-2-1 with a 2.23 GAA and .927 SV% in seven straight starts. Tonight he starts vs. his former team at Rogers Arena—Markstrom is 3-4-1 with a 2.70 GAA and .906 SV% on home ice this season.

Allen left after Corey Perry collided with him. Allen left early in the second period, turning things over to Brain Elliott. There was no update on Allen’s status after the game, but expect Elliott to start on Saturday and there should be an update on Allen in the next few days.

Markstrom gave up two goals on 28 shots in the Canucks’ win over the Hurricanes on Wednesday. Markstrom has won four of six starts since Ryan Miller was injured, while posting a 2.12 GAA and .929 SV%. Markstrom has played well and will start his seventh consecutive game tonight. Tampa Bay comes in having lost three of five.

Allen allowed four goals on 33 shots in the Blues overtime loss in Colorado on Wednesday. Allen has now lost three straight games while allowing a combined nine goals on 93 shots (.903 SV%). Despite his recent struggles, the Blues will go back to him tonight in Anaheim. It is a solid matchup vs. a low-scoring team, don’t be afraid to deploy Allen.

Allen gave up three goals on 32 shots in the Blues loss in Toronto on Saturday. Brian Elliott started on Monday, but Allen will go tonight in Colorado. Allen has had a great year and he has been impressive on the road, going 7-4-1 with a 2.34 GAA and .927 SV% in 12 away starts. He lost his first start against the Avs, but he should make for a great start tonight.

Markstrom made 27 saves on 28 shots in the Canucks victory over the Ducks on Friday. He will start his fifth consecutive game and comes in having won four of his last five while posting a 1.93 GAA and .937 SV%. Markstrom is playing much better than he did earlier in the year and tonight he faces a Coyotes team that has lost three of five while giving up an average of 3.60 goals per game.

The Panthers have activated Nick Bjugstad (migraines) off of IR; expected to play on Sunday.

Bjugstad missed the entire month of December because of migraines, but has been practicing and his activation from IR today suggests that he will play for the first time since November 29th. Bjugsad has 12 points (7G / 5A) in 23 games this season.

Allen has an impressive 2.08 GAA and .927 SV% on the season and comes in at 1-1-0 with a 2.44 GAA and .900 SV% in two starts vs. the Wild this year.

Markstrom allowed one goal on 33 shots in the Canucks win over the Oilers on Saturday. With Ryan Miller out, Markstrom remains the starter and he comes in having one two in a row while stopping 58 of 60 (.967 SV%) shots. He has played well as of late and will take on a Kings team that has lost four of their last six. In his first start vs. L.A, Markstrom stopped 38 of 40 shots in a 2-1 OT loss.

Allen allowed two goals on 24 shots in the Blues win over the Stars on Saturday. Brian Elliott got the nod on Sunday, but they will go back to Allen tonight vs. the Predators. Allen has won four of his last five while posting a 1.98 GAA and .934 SV%. He has faced the Preds twice already this season, going 2-0-0 with a 0.50 GAA, .986 SV% and one shutout in the first two.
