The Florida Panthers recalled goaltender Jacob Markstrom from the San Antonio Rampage (AHL).

Starting goaltender Tim Thomas took part in the team's practice Thursday, but left with an unspecified injury after 15 minutes. Florida will have an update on Thomas' status following the team's morning skate on Friday. Markstrom appeared in 11 games with Florida earlier this season, posting a 1-5-3 record, 3.36 goals-against average and a .877 save percentage. He was loaned to the Rampage on November 10. After joining San Antonio, the 23-year-old appeared in 10 games, going 4-5-1.

Hamilton will be out two-to-four weeks with a lower-body injury.

The Bruins defenseman continue to drop like flies as now they are down to just five healthy defensemen. Hamilton play just 5:58 before leaving Sunday's game vs. the Maple Leafs. The Bruins are unsure if Johnny Boychuk will be available tonight. Unless someone is recalled soon, the Bruins will play with five D-men if Boychuk can't go.

Hamilton (lower-body) is being sent back to Boston to be re-evaluated after being injured in Sunday's win over the Maple Leafs.

Bruins head coach Claude Julien thinks that Hamilton will miss at least a week, "we'll see what the outcome is there but, right now, it doesn't seem like he's going to be playing with us probably this coming week. It doesn't look good as far as - the diagnosis on him was he's probably done for at least a week." The Bruins are hopeful that Johnny Boychuk will be available tomorrow at Calgary, if he is not then they will need to make a roster move.

Hamilton has left Sunday's game with an apparent lower-body injury and will not return.

Hamilton appeared to be injured following a collision with Maple Leafs defenseman Carl Gunnarson. The injuries continue to pile up for the Bruins who are already without defensemen Adam McQuaid and Johnny Boychuk and lost forwards Loui Eriksson and Chris Kelly last night. It has been a rough weekend for the Bruins in terms of health.

The long-projected future goalie of the Panthers, Jacob Markstrom, 23, continues to be maddeningly inconsistent, and will most likely head back to the minors when Thomas returns to the lineup against Ottawa on Saturday afternoon.

Markstrom is 1-5-3 with a 3.36 GAA and .877 SV% in eight starts this season. In 37 careers starts (42 appearances) Markstrom is 11-24-5 with a 3.16 GAA and .899 SV%.

Markstrom gets the nod for the Panthers.

Markstrom will start his first game since October 15th, when he allowed four goals on 30 shots in a losing effort vs. Nashville. The last time Tim Thomas went down with an injury, Markstrom didn’t play great, but he has a solid matchup vs. Buffalo tonight – He is risky, but it could work out.

Markstrom will start tomorrow vs. Tampa Bay.

After Tim Thomas left yesterday's contest with a groin injury, Markstrom came in and was excellent in relief. He turned aside all 25 shots he faced, but the Panthers could only get one passed Steve Mason. He will be the starter as long as Thomas is out, but the injury is not expected to be long term.
