The Devils added Dougie Hamilton to the COVID-19 protocol list.
Hamilton was already sidelined with a broken jaw, so this likely doesn't change his timeline at all. The Devils have yet to release any details of when they expect to get him back in the lineup.
Goalie Start
Markstrom is expected to start Friday in Carolina.
Hischier (lower-body) will return to the Devils lineup on Thursday.
Hischier missed Tuesday's game in Boston but will play tonight vs. the Blue Jackets. Hischier has been hot as of late, scoring three goals with three assists during a five-game point streak.

Markstrom led the Flames onto the ice for warmups.
Hischier (lower-body) will not play on Tuesday.
Hischier will be held out of Tuesday's game in Boston due to a lower-body injury. Alexander Holtz will likely be brought up from the taxi squad and take Hischier's place in the lineup.
Hamilton has been placed on IR and will have surgery on his broken jaw on Wednesday.
Hamilton took a puck to the face on Sunday and broke his jaw. Hamilton will undergo surgery on Wednesday and will be out until at least January 9th. Expect a more detailed timeline after his surgery is complete.
Tatar (COVID-19 protocol) will return to the Devils lineup on Tuesday.
Tatar has missed the last three games while in COVID-19 protocol but will play Tuesday in Boston. Tatar will likely replace Jesper Boqvist in the lineup and skate on a line with Nico Hischier.
Hamilton (head) will not play Tuesday in Boston.
Hamilton was hit in the face by a puck on Sunday and remained in New Jersey to be evaluated, so he will not play Tuesday. Christian Jaros will draw into the lineup to replace Hamilton.
The Stars removed Luke Glendening from the COVID-19 protocol list.

Addison will draw into the Wild lineup on Saturday.
Addison, who has nine points (2G / 7A) in 17 AHL games this season, will play in the Winter Classic on Saturday. Addison has one goal in six career NHL games.
Dadonov has cleared COVID-19 protocol and is on the ice for warmups; will play vs. Anaheim.

Markstrom will start Thursday in Seattle.
The Stars placed Luke Glendening into COVID-19 protocol on Wednesday (Dec.29).
Adding Glendening, Jamie Benn and Ryan Suter to the COVID-19 reserve list brings the total to 11 Stars currently in protocol. It seems highly unlikely that Sunday's game in Arizona will be played.
The Devils added Tomas Tatar to the COVID-19 protocol list on Sunday (Dec.26).
Tatar and Jon Gillies were added to the COVID-19 protocol list on Sunday while removing five players. Expect Tatar to be out until at least the middle of next week.
The Canadiens added Jake Allen to the COVID-19 protocol list on Monday.
The Canadiens' COVID-19 list grew to nine players, one day ahead of Tuesday's game in Tampa. With Allen out, look for Samuel Montembeault or Cayden Primeau to start.
Dadonov was added to the COVID-19 protocol list.
The Golden Knights are one of two teams left before the Christmas break but adding Pietrangelo and Dadonov to the COVID-19 protocol list muddies the chances of this game happening. If it does happen, the Golden Knights will be without Dadonov, who filled in on the top line with Mark Stone not available for their last game.
Bratt is on the ice for warmups; expected to return to the lineup on Sunday.
Bratt will not play Saturday due to a non-COVID related illness.
