Goalie Start
Varlamov will start Wednesday in Los Angeles.
Varlamov allowed three goals on 23 shots in Colorado’s win over the Bruins last Wednesday. Varlamov has won two in a row and is now 2-3-0 with a 3.46 GAA and .881 SV% in November. He has a chance to extend his winning streak to three against Kings team that is last in goals per game (2.00).
Schenn (upper-body) will be back in the Blues lineup on Friday.
Despite being placed on IR on Thursday, Schenn will play tonight in Vegas. Schenn’s move to IR was retroactive to November 3rd, so he is eligible to be activated before tonight’s game. Schenn is expected to skate on a line with Tyler Bozak and Robby Fabbri and returns to the lineup with nine points (3G / 6A) in 12 games this season.
The Blues have placed Brayden Schenn (upper-body) on IR.
Schenn has missed the last four games with an upper-body injury, so his movement to IR was just to create a roster spot to recall Sammy Blais before they head to Vegas and San Jose. Schenn is expected to miss both of those games, but is eligible to return whenever he is healthy.
Pelech will draw back into the Islanders lineup on Thursday.
Pelech was scratched on Tuesday, but will be replace Adam Pelech tonight vs. the Rangers. Pelech has five points (1G / 4A) in 15 games this season.
The Islanders have placed Matt Martin (upper-body) on IR.
Martin’s move to IR is retroactive to November 1st, so he is eligible to play whenever he is healthy. Martin remains day-to-day according to the Islanders.
The Islanders have placed Casey Cizikas (lower-body) on IR.
Cizikas will miss 2-3 weeks with a lower-body injury, so he has been moved to IR to open up a roster spot to recall Stephen Gionta from Bridgeport (AHL).
Goalie Start
Varlamov will start Wednesday vs. the Bruins.
Varlamov allowed one goal on 27 shots in Colorado’s win in Edmonton on Sunday. The win snapped a five-game losing streak for Varlamov, who is now 5-5-2 with a 2.26 GAA and .929 SV% on the season. The Avalanche will host the Bruins tonight and Varlamov comes in at 2-2-1 with a 2.01 GAA and .936 SV% on home-ice.
Schenn (upper-body) will remain out on Wednesday.
Schenn will miss his fourth straight game on Wednesday, which means that Robert Thomas will continue to play an elevated role. Monitor Schenn’s status as he heads into the back-to-back on Friday and Saturday.
Pelech will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday.
Pelech has one goal and four assists in 15 games this season. He was a minus-2 in Florida on Saturday and will be replaced by Luca Sbisa tonight vs. the Canucks.

Schenn will miss his second straight game with an upper-body injury, which means Ryan O’Reilly will centre the top line and Robert Thomas and Robby Fabbri will play expanded roles.

Varlamov will start Friday vs. the Jets.
Varlamov allowed three goals on 33 shots in Colorado’s loss to the Predators on Wednesday. Varlamov has now lost four in a row while posting a 3.09 GAA and .901 SV%. He draws a tough matchup vs. a well rested Jets team in Winnipeg. The 30-year-old netminder is 2-2-1 with a 2.40 GAA and .932 SV% on the road so far this season.
Schenn (upper-body) is questionable for Friday.
Schenn missed Tuesday’s game vs. the Hurricanes, but was back on the ice for Thursday’s practice. Despite centring the second line today, Schenn remains questionable for Friday’s game vs. the Sharks.
Palat (lower-body) will miss at least four weeks.
The Lightning announced on Wednesday that Palat is not progressing like they hoped and announced this morning that he will be shutdown for four weeks. With Palat out, J.T. Miller is expected to remain in the Lightning’s top-6 through November and into December.
Palat (lower-body) is probably a “few weeks away.”
Lightning’s head coach said that Palat is not “progressing the way wen liked so we shut him down here for a little bit.” Palat was originally expected to be back before Victor Hedman, but it sounds like the opposite will end up coming true.
Goalie Start
Varlamov will start Wednesday vs. the Predators.
Varlamov allowed six goals on 37 shots in Colorado’s loss in Calgary last Thursday. Varlamov had a great start to the season but has now lost three in a row while allowing nine goals on 88 shots (.898 SV%). Tonight he faces a Predators team that has won three in a row and four of their last five. Varlamov is 2-1-1 with a 1.76 GAA and .943 SV% on home-ice so far this season.
Schenn (upper-body) is questionable for Tuesday.
Schenn suffered and upper-body injury on Saturday and missed Monday’s practice. Blues head coach Mike Yeo listed Schenn as questionable for Tuesday’s game vs. the Hurricanes. Ryan O’Reilly moved up to the top line with Schenn not on the ice this morning.
The Kings recalled Matt Luff from Ontario (AHL).
Luff is an undrafted free agent, who has recorded 12 points (6G / 6A) in eight games with the Reign this season. Luff is expected to make his NHL debut vs. the Blue Jackets on Saturday.
Martin is day-to-day with an upper-body injury and will not play on Saturday.
