#canucks Cory Schneider starts versus #oilers.

Schneider will get his ninth straight start tonight. After winning six straight he has now lost each of his last two starts. In one of those losses he allowed two goals on the first two shots before being pulled against the Oilers, who he plays tonight. He will likely lower his 57.50 GAA against Edmonton tonight.

Projected starting goaltenders:COL- Semyon Varlamov (2012-13 stats: 10-17-3, 2.99 GAA) and NSH- Pekka Rinne (2012-13 stats: 13-10-7, 2.33 GAA)

Varlamov was pulled after giving up three goals on 13 shots in yesterday's game vs. the Red Wings. He will likely be back in goal tonight because he is the clear #1 goalie in Colorado and he did not last long last night. He is still looking for his first win on the road this season.

In goal, the Avs' Semyon Varlamov will oppose the Wings' Jimmy Howard.

Varlamov played amazing, making some spectacular saves in a 34-save shutout performance vs. the Predators on Saturday. He will get the nod tonight on the road vs. the Red Wings. He is 0-11-2 with a 3.64 GAA and .889 SV% away from the Pepsi Center this season.

Anders Lee has signed a two-year deal with the #Isles and will be in Newark for morning skate.

Lee just finished up his junior year at the University of Notre Dame. He had 20 goals and 18 assists in 41 games this season. He totaled 61 goals and 55 assists (116 points) in 125 games at Notre Dame. It is unlikely that he will play for the Isles tonight, but tomorrow is a possibility.

#Canucks continue to ride the hot hand of Cory Schneider - he gets the start tonight vs the Blue Jackets.

Schneider has won four consecutive starts while posting a 1.25 GAA and .957 SV%. He has a good matchup against the Blue Jackets, he should make for a great start tonight. Especially on the hot-streak he is on.
