Fox (lower-body) will return to the Rangers' lineup on Wednesday.

Fox has 11 points (3G / 8A) in 10 games and has not played since November 2nd. During his absence, Fox has been replaced on the Rangers' top powerplay by Erik Gustafsson, who has performed admirably, scoring 10 points (1G / 9A). That said, Gustafsson was averaging 2:46 less time-on-ice before Fox was injured, scoring only four points (2G / 2A) in 10 games, which is closer to what can be expected from him after Fox returns.

Igor Shesterkin will start Wednesday vs. Detroit.

Shesterkin will return to the crease on Wednesday after allowing four goals on 38 shots (.895 SV%) in his last contest, a 5-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres. During his Vezina-winning 2021-22 season, Shesterkin allowed four or more goals only seven times the entire season (53 games), a considerably stronger ratio than the four times he has allowed four or more in 12 games this season. That said, Shesterkin looks poised to rebound on Wednesday as the Rangers are -191 home favourites against a Detroit Red Wings team that will be without leading scorer Dylan Larkin.

Korpisalo participated in the Sentaors' morning skate on Monday and could be an option in the crease against the Florida Panthers. Igor Shesterkin will start Friday at Philadelphia.

Shesterkin will return to the Rangers crease on Friday against the Philadelphia Flyers. The 2021-22 Vezina winner has been overshined by backup, and 2011-12 Vezina runner-up, Jonathan Quick, who was sensational in the Rangers' last outing, saving 32 shots for a 1-0 shutout victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Since returning from injury, Shesterkin has allowed seven goals in two games (1-1-0), posting an uncharacteristic .896 SV%. Joonas Korpisalo (undisclosed) did not practice Friday and is expected to be out vs. the New York Islanders.

Korpisalo appears to still be nursing an undisclosed injury that kept him from dressing in the second game of the NHL Global Series in Sweden on November 18th. The Senators have recalled Mads Sogaard to serve as the backup to Anton Forsberg in the interim. The Senators will hope Korpisalo can return soon as he was finally starting to find his footing this season, posting a 4-2-0 record and a .921 SV% in his last eight appearances.
