The Avalanche have claimed Nicolas Aube-Kubel off of waivers from the Flyers.

Aube-Kubel was a second-round pick of the Flyers in 2014 and was a regular member of their team in 2020-21. The 25-year-old had 12 points (3G / 9A) in 50 games last year but was buried on the depth this year. He now heads to Colorado, where he'll likely battle with Kiefer Sherwood for a spot in the bottom-6.

Ruhwedel (COVID-19) will not be available for Saturday's game in Ottawa.

Ruhwedel was activated from the COVID-19 protocol list for Thursday's game but he is ineligible to travel to Canada due to the Canadian government’s mandatory 14-day quarantine requirement following his previous positive tests for COVID-19.

Shesterkin was the first goalie off of the ice at the Rangers morning skate.

Shesterkin allowed six goals on 37 shots in the Rangers loss in Calgary on Saturday. The Rangers had a tough road trip and Shesterkin allowed a combined nine goals on 73 shots (.877 SV%). On Monday, he'll face a Panthers team that has yet to lose in regulation this season.
