The Blue Jackets have recalled Joonas Korpisalo from Cleveland (AHL) under emergency conditions.
Korpisalo has been recalled to serve as Anton Forsberg’s backup tonight in Carolina. Sergei Bobrovsky is sick, but should be ready to go for Friday, so expect Korpisalo to go back down after tonight’s game.
The Blue Jackets have sent Oliver Bjorkstrand to Cleveland (AHL).
Bjorkstrand has been a healthy scratch for the last five games, so he will swap places with Dalton Prout, who had reached the end of his conditioning stint. Bjorkstrand has picked up 10 goals and four assists (14 points) in 20 AHL games this season.

The Avalanche have sent Spencer Martin to San Antonio (AHL).
Martin served as Calvin Pickard’s backup for three games while Semyon Varlamov was sidelined with a groin injury. With Varlamov back on Tuesday, Martin returns to San Antonio, where he has gone 11-7-0 with a 2.31 GAA and .924 SV%.

The Bruins have recalled Anton Blidh from Providence (AHL).
Blidh picked up one goal in two games with Providence after being sent down last week, to give him 10 points (6G / 4A) in 21 AHL games this season. He comes up having collected one assist in four games with Boston.

Semyon Varlamov will not suit up for Wednesday's game because of a groin injury, so Martin has been recalled and will serve as Calvin Pickard's backup. The 21-year-old netminder has gone 11-7-0 with a 2.31 GAA ad .924 SV% in 18 games with San Antonio.
The Bruins have sent Anton Blidh to Providence (AHL).
Blidh picked up one assist in four games with the Bruins during his call-up, but he will return to Providence with Noel Acciari ready to return to the lineup on Saturday.

Bjorkstrand has been recalled on an emergency basis, so someone is likely out tonight. Bjorkstrand made the team out of the training camp, but failed to record a point in three games. The 21-year-old has 12 points (8G / 4A) in 19 games since being sent down.

The Bruins have recalled Anton Blidh from Providence (AHL).
Blidh, 21, was a sixth round pick (180th overall) in 2013 and was recalled after posting nine points (5G / 4A) in 19 games with Providence. Blidh will travel to Buffalo and could make his NHL debut on Saturday.
Miller (knee) missed Monday’s practice; questionable for Tuesday’s game.
Miller had to get stitches on his knee after being hit by a Mats Zuccerello shot on Sunday. Rangers’ head coach Alain Vigneault said it is a 50/50 chance that Miller will be in the lineup on Tuesday. If he can’t play, Oscar Lindberg will get back into the lineup.
Zibanejad will miss 6-8 weeks with a broken fibula.
Zibanejad broke his fibula after sliding awkwardly into the boards during the Rangers’ shootout loss to the Panthers on Sunday. Zibanejad has enjoyed a great start to his Rangers career, having collected 15 points (5G / 10A) in 19 games, but that will be put on hold for at least six weeks. Expect Kevin Hayes to take on a bigger role in the Rangers’ offence with Zibanejad out.

The Blue Jackets have assigned Joonas Korpisalo to Cleveland (AHL).
Korpisalo returned to practice on Monday and was sent to Cleveland where he will get some game action. The 22-year-old netminder was 8-8-2 with a 2.36 GAA and .913 SV% in 18 AHL games a season ago.

Korpisalo suffered a groin injury in the preseason and finally returned to practice on Monday. Korpisalo had a strong .920 SV% with the Blue Jackets last year, but there’s a good chance he goes to Cleveland (AHL) for a conditioning stint.
Miller (undisclosed) will play on Wednesday.
Miller missed Tuesday’s practice but was on the ice for the morning skate and will be in the lineup on Wednesday. Miller had one goal and seven shots after being moved into the top-6 because of Chris Kreider’s injury. He makes for a solid daily choice tonight vs. the Bruins.
The Rangers acquired Mika Zibanejad and a 2018 second-round pick from the Senators for Derick Brassard and a 2018 seventh-round pick.
The Rangers signed J.T. Miller to a two-year extension on July 13th.
Miller, 23, was the 15th overall pick in 2011 and his breakout season was long awaited. Miller finally broke through in 2015-16 after posting just 33 points (15G / 18A) in 114 games over his first three seasons. Miller scored 22 goals with 21 assists (43 points) last season and figures to take steps forward as a member of the Rangers’ top-6 in 2016-17.
The Red Wings have selected Dennis Cholowski with the 20th overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft.

Korpisalo starts Friday vs. the Sabres.
Korpisalo allowed three goals on 29 shots in the Blue Jackets loss to the Rangers on Monday. Korpisalo has lost three of his last four starts while posting a 2.79 GAA and .913 SV%. Tonight he will face the Sabres, who he is 0-1-0 against, on the road where he has gone 6-7-1 with a 2.83 GAA and .913 SV% this season.

Korpisalo stopped 26 of 27 shots in the Blue Jackets win in Carolina on Saturday. He will make his second straight start because he has been outplaying Sergei Bobrovsky recently. Korpisalo lost his first start vs. the Rangers, but he has played very well at Nationwide Arena this season—going 9-3-3 with a 2.46 GAA and .923 SV% this year.
