Anderson surrendered four goals on 32 shots in the Senators loss to the Bruins on Tuesday. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Anderson, who is now 4-2-1 with a 3.14 GAA and .915 SV% in his first seven starts. He draws a tough matchup tonight in Colorado—the Avalanche are 30-12-3 on home-ice dating back to the start of last season.

All of a sudden Anderson has strung together three-straight wins while turning aside 97 of the 102 shots (.951 SV%) that he has faced. Anderson has been one of the biggest early-season surprises, but draws a terrible matchup with the Bruins in town on Tuesday.
Ullmark stopped all 36 shots that he faced in the Sabres win in Arizona last Saturday. It was a great season debut for Ullmark, who will make his second start this afternoon in Los Angeles. The Kings are expected to get Anze Kopitar back, but still rank 28th in the NHL in scoring (2.00 GF/PG).
Anderson stopped 37 of 38 shots in the Hurricanes win over the Stars on Monday. Anderson had a slow start to the season, but has now won two in a row while stopping 73 of 75 shots (.973 SV%). Anderson was 1-1-0 with a 3.60 GAA, .860 SV% and one shutout vs. Montreal last season.
Anderson stopped 36 of 37 shots in the Senators win over the Kings on Saturday afternoon. Anderson has had two bad starts and two good starts this season, posting a 3.52 GAA and .913 SV% overall. Things won’t get any easier for him on Monday. The Stars are in town averaging the fifth most goals in the league (4.25) so far.
Ullmark will make his first start of the season after going 1-2-0 with a 2.00 GAA and .935 SV% in five games with the Sabres last year. Ullmark has shown the ability to be a quality spot-start option in the past and he draws a worthwhile matchup tonight in Arizona.
Anderson allowed six goals on 44 shots in the Senators loss to the Flyers on Wednesday. The veteran netminder has struggled through three starts this season, allowing a combined 13 goals on 124 shots (.895 SV%). Anderson has been busy early this season, facing an average of 41.3 shots per game so far. The Senators are going to be near the basement this season, so he may face 40-plus shots every night.
Formenton left Wednesday’s loss to the Flyers with what was originally described as an upper-body injury. The Senators confirmed on Friday that Formenton sustained a concussion and will head to injured reserve. There is no timetable for his return, but he will miss at least one week.

Tkachuk missed the first two games of the season with a mild groin injury, but will be on the Senators first-line with Matt Duchene and Ryan Dzingel this afternoon. This summer’s No.4 overall pick had 31 points (8G / 23A) in 40 games at Boston University last year.

However, the veteran is a risky option tonight in Toronto. He was 2-1-0 with an ugly 4.11 GAA and .893 SV% vs. the Maple Leafs a season ago.
Anderson had a superb 2017 season, but crashed back to earth in 2018. The Senators were riddled with dysfunction and it led to Anderson posting a 3.32 GAA, .898 SV% and 23 wins in 58 games. Things got even worse this summer when Ottawa completely committed to a rebuild, making Anderson a low-end fantasy goalie option.
Tkachuk’s NHL debut will be put on hold because of a mild groin strain, but he shouldn’t be sidelined for too long. With Tkahuck out, Colin White will move up to centre the second line with Zack Smith and Mark Stone.
There is no word on when Tkachuk suffered the injury, but it looks like his NHL debut will be put on hold fo now. This summer’s fourth overall pick had 31 points (8G / 23A) in 40 games at Boston University and is expected to skate on the second line with Mark Stone and Zack Smith when he is healthy.
