Jarry was the first goalie off the ice at the Penguins morning skate.

Jarry stopped 23 of 25 shots (.920 SV%) for his fourth loss in his passed five full starts as he was beat in overtime by New Jersey last game. The 27-year-old has been sensational for a second straight season for the Penguins, with his 16-5-5 record, 2.65 GAA and .921 SV%. He faces the Florida Panthers, who lost their previous game Monday 6-2 to the New York Rangers, and is third in the NHL in shots per game (35.3).

Jarry last played on January 2nd and was pulled after stopping all eight of eight shots due to a lower-body injury. The Penguins will be very happy to have their starting netminder back, as he is 15-5-4 on the season, with his 2.75 GAA and .918 SV%. He will take on the Ottawa Senators, who won their last game 5-4 in overtime vs. Pittsburgh but are sixth in the NHL in shots per game (33.5).

Joona Koppanen will be a healthy scratch Thursday vs. the New York Rangers.

Koppanen played 10:58 for the Bruins last night vs. the Islanders and picked up two PIMs but will be a healthy scratch Thursday as they take on the Rangers. Koppanen had six goals, 14 assists, 22 PIMs and a +9 plus/minus in 36 games with Providence (AHL) prior to his callup on Tuesday.

Kris Letang remains day-to-day and will not play Wednesday vs. Ottawa (illness).

Letang has not played since Dec. 28th due to an illness and will not play Wednesday as Pittsburgh takes on the Ottawa Senators. The 35-year-old star defenseman has two goals, 14 assists, 57 SOG and a -12 plus/minus through 29 games prior to his latest absence.

Tristan Jarry has been placed on the injured reserve retroactive to January 2nd (undisclosed).

Jarry left the Winter Classic last Monday just 15:30 into the first period with an undisclosed injury and has been placed on the injured reserve retroactive to January 2nd. The 27-year-old was having a strong season, with his 15-5-4 record, 2.75 GAA and .918 SV% prior to the injury and will hope to be back sooner rather than later.

Joona Koppanen has been recalled from Providence (AHL) and will make his NHL debut Thursday.

Koppanen had five goals, 19 points, 22 PIMs and a +10 plus/minus rating through 34 games this season with the Providence Bruins (AHL) and earned his first career NHL call-up Wednesday. The 24-year-old has yet to experience any NHL action throughout his career so when cracks the Bruins' lineup Thursday, he will be making his long-awaited debut.
