Skinner will look for his fourth straight victory as he prepares to be the starting goalie for the Oilers on Thursday. In his last three games, Skinner has saved 69 of 75 shots (.920 SV%). The Oilers are -114 road favourites against a Winnipeg Jets team that was shutout 2-0 by the Dallas Stars on Tuesday.

The Islanders lost both Aho and Adam Pelech on Friday, and both are questionable to play Saturday. Depending on their availability, the Islanders may be forced to make some roster moves in order to have six defensemen.

Dumba signed a one-year, $3.9 million contract with Arizona in the offseason but has struggled out of the gate to produce with two goals, two assists, 25 SOG, 24 PIMs and a -9 plus/minus in 19 games and will be a healthy scratch Saturday. The 29-year-old will be replaced by Vladislav Kolyachonok, who is making his season debut.

Skinner has allowed three or more goals in three consecutive games (1-2-0), posting an ugly .829 SV% after a two-game stretch (2-0-0) where he saved 49 of 51 shots (.961 SV%). The Capitals have won five straight but rank fourth-worst in the league offensively (2.56 GF / GP), and as such, the Oilers are -143 road favourites.

After a down 2022-23 campaign, Rust was in the process of having a terrific rebound season, tallying 16 points (9G / 7A) in 17 games thus far.
