The Sharks have signed Dmitry Orlov to a two-year deal worth $6.5M AAV ($13.0M total)

After two seasons in Carolina, Orlov inks a two-year pact with a young Sharks term. Orlov brings 13-years of NHL experience and is coming off of a 28-point season (6G / 22A) in 76 games. The veteran is a solid two-way blueliner, who will join other veterans like Mario Ferraro, John Klingberg and Nick Leddy in San Jose.

San Jose has signed Jimmy Huntington to a one-year, two-way contract.

San Jose added to their depth in the minors by signing 26-year-old forward Jimmy Huntington to a one-year, two-way contract. The Quebec native was limited to only four games in 2024-25 with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL) due to injury, but still has 17 goals and 37 points across 71 games in the AHL in the last two seasons.

San Jose has acquired Alex Nedeljkovic from Pittsburgh for a 2028 3rd round pick.

The Sharks are heading in a different direction between the pipes in the 2025-26 season, now with Alex Nedeljkovic and Yaroslav Askarov battling for the crease. The 29-year-old Nedeljkovic posted a subpar 3.12 GAA and .894 SV% in 38 appearances last season (14-15-5) on a Pittsburgh Penguins team that struggled defensively.

Gaudette played a career-high 81 games last season and scored a career-high 19 goals with the Ottawa Senators. The 28-year-old has split most of his career alternating between the AHL and NHL and will hope to continue a trend from last year, playing as an NHL regular in the 2025-26 season.

The Sabres have acquired Michael Kesselring and Josh Doan from the Mammoth for JJ Peterka.

Two days before the NHL Draft, Buffalo has moved on from 23-year-old JJ Peterka by acquiring Josh Doan and Michael Kesselring on Wednesday night. Kesselring will join his third organization after being drafted by Edmonton in the sixth round of the 2018 draft (164th overall) and debuting with Arizona in 2022-23. The 25-year-old has the potential to be a top-four defenseman as shown by his seven goals, 29 points, 89 PIMs and 150 SOG in 82 GP with Utah in 2024-25.

The Kraken have acquired Mason Marchment from the Stars for a 2026 3rd Round Pick and a 2025 4th Round Pick.

Marchment will be in the final year of a four-year deal that carries a $4.5M AAV cap-hit. The Stars are pressed up against the salary cap, so Marchment is their first move to clear some space. The 30-year-old winger was on pace for a career-best season in 2024-25, but missed 20 games due to injury. He finished the year with 47 points (22G / 25A) in 62 games, a 29-goal, 33-assist pace.
