Seattle Kraken News

Grubauer will start in Anaheim on Monday.

In the front end of a back-to-back, the Kraken will turn to Grubauer to tend the twine. The 34-year-old Grubauer has never had a solid footing since joining Seattle, but he has played well lately despite recording three straight losses (0-3-0), posting a 3.00 GAA and .906 SV%. Seattle enters the action on Monday as a +147 road underdog against the Anaheim Ducks, whom they defeated 3-1 in their only other meeting this season.

Montour underwent successful hand surgery and is expected to be out for the next four weeks.

Montour has not played the past couple of games for Seattle and has undergone surgery to address a hand injury that will keep him sidelined for approximately the next month. The 31-year-old Montour is averaging 21:56 time-on-ice and has 16 points (6G / 10A) in 27 games this season.

Daccord will start in Calgary on Thursday.

The Kraken will hand the reigns to Daccord for the 21st time this season when they host the Stars on Thursday. Daccord's last start came on Sunday and he was unfortunate to be tagged with the loss despite allowing just two goals on 22 shots, as the Kraken fell to the Sabres by a score of 3-1. The 29-year-old netminder carries an 8-8-4 record and .893 SV% into Thursday night's matchup, where the Kraken enter action at +175 on the money line.

Dunn (illness) missed practice on Monday but is expected to play on Tuesday vs. Colorado.

Dunn has continued to be a productive presence from Seattle's blueline, regularly quarterbacking their top powerplay unit. The 29-year-old defenseman has 18 points (5G / 13A) in 30 games this season, including six points (2G / 4A) in his last eight games.

Vince Dunn
Kakko (illness) missed practice on Monday and is expected to play on Tuesday vs. Colorado.

Kakko was acquired by Seattle in the offseason and has not panned out the way they had hoped. The 24-year-old second-overall pick from the 2019 NHL Entry Draft has yet to live up to his draft value and has seemingly taken a step back with the Kraken, scoring three points (1G / 2A) in 14 games this season.

Grubauer will start in Utah on Friday.

Despite a superb effort from Joey Daccord against the Kings on Wednesday, it will in fact be Grubauer between the pipes when the Kraken travel to Utah on Friday. Grubauer was unfortunate to be tagged with the loss in his last start, allowing two goals on 27 shots in a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Wild on Monday. The 34-year-old netminder carries a 4-1-1 record and .900 SV% into Friday night's matchup in Utah, where the Kraken enter action at +150 on the money line.
