Jon Merrill will re-enter the lineup for Larsson who is battling the flu. Larsson struggled to get into the lineup in the early part of the season, but has played well as of late and has four points (1G / 3A) and a minus-2 rating in 17 games this season. He is day-to-day.
Larsson made his season debut on Tuesday and played 12:30, recording two shots, but no points. He will come out of the lineup and Eric Gelinas will return to the blueline vs. the Stars.
The former fourth overall pick has been a healthy scratch in each of the Devils' first five games, but it appears as if he will play on Tuesday vs. the Rangers. Larsson is skating on the Devils' third pair with Jon Merrill, while Eric Gelinas is skating as the seventh defenseman. Larsson has just three goals and 24 assists (27 points) in 128 career NHL games.
Eberle did not skate for the last two days and missed Tuesday's game against the Kings, but skating prior to tonight's game at least leaves hope that he might play. Monitor his status during pre-game warmups.
There was no word on what is ailing Eberle, but he will not play tonight and should be considered questionable for Wednesday. With Eberle out, Teddy Purcell will start the game on the first line.
Eberle did not skate on Monday and is not on the ice this morning. Yesterday was believed to be a "maintenance" day, but his absence today as well likely suggests he won't play tonight vs. the Kings. A full update on Eberle's status should be available upon the completion of the morning skate.
Larsson has only one goal and two assists in 20 games with the Devils this season. While in the AHL he has registered 19 points (3G / 16A) in 32 games. The Devils have a couple of defensemen who are banged up, thus the Larsson recall.
Eberle siad that he "felt great" on Friday, but would not commit to playing tomorrow vs. the Flames. Monitor his status during Saturday's morning skate.
Eberle will not have an MRI as originally reported because the Oilers do not feel one is necessary. He will be replaced by Tyler Pitlick on the Oilers' second line. Consider Eberle day-to-day.
Grubauer was recalled on Wednesday after they traded Michal Neuvirth to Buffalo and stopped 10 of 11 shots after replacing Braden Holtby.

He’s playing a lot and the team is playing very well. It’s a good team there right now."
Despite starting 14 of their last 20 games, Grubauer was pulled in each of his last two starts and has been reassigned. This is a tough break for owners who invested on him, but if you did, evaluate the waiver wire options because Caps goalies are terribly risky right now.
