Toronto has acquired Nick Paul from Tampa Bay for Dennis Hildeby, 2027 4th round pick and a 2028 3rd round pick.

The 31-year-old Paul has been an integral part of the Tampa Bay Lightning over the past few seasons. He battled injuries in 2025-26, playing just 51 games, but scored 148 points (75G / 73A0 in 310 combined games with Tampa Bay.

Toronto has signed Teddy Blueger to a two-year contract worth $2.5 million AAV ($5M total).

Blueger has been an effective, defensively sound, bottom-six forward over the past several seasons and should help the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2026-27, especially with the penalty kill. The 31-year-old Latvian forward scored 17 points (9G / 8A) last season in 35 games with the Vancouver Canucks.

Toronto has signed Colton Sissons to a two-year, $4.25 million AAV contract ($8.5M total).

After spending the first decade of his career with the Nashville Predators, Sissons joined the Vegas Golden Knights last season and helped them in their run to the Stanley Cup finals as an effective bottom-six forward. The 32-year-old Sissons scored 11 points (6G / 5A) last season in 66 games with Vegas.

Toronto has signed Sergei Bobrovsky to a three-year, $7 million AAV contract ($21M total).

After acquiring Jacob Markstrom and Akira Schmid earlier this week, the Florida Panthers made it clear they would be moving on from Sergei Bobrovsky, who spent the past seven seasons with them, including leading them to two Stanley Cups. The 37-year-old Bobrovsky is a Vezina Trophy winner, but is coming off arguably the worst season of his career, posting a 3.07 GAA and .877 SV% in 52 games (27-23-1). He hopes a change of scenery with the Toronto Maple Leafs can motivate him to return to the form he showed in previous seasons.

Toronto has signed Jack Roslovic to a two-year contract worth $4 million AAV ($8M total).

The Maple Leafs added solid offensive depth on the opening day of free agency, signing Jack Roslovic to a two-year contract worth $8 million ($4.0M AAV). The 29-year-old forward spent the 2025-26 season with the Edmonton Oilers, playing up and down the lineup, averaging 15:46 time-on-ice and scoring 36 points (21G / 15A) in 69 games.

Toronto has signed Troy Stecher to a two-year contract extension worth $1.35M AAV ($2.7M total).

Stecher was claimed off waivers from the Oilers in mid-November and recorded 14 points (3G / 11A) in 58 games with the Maple Leafs in 2025-26. With their current depth chart, Stecher and Emil Andrae will likely battle for the No.6 defenseman spot in training camp. Even if he serves as the No.7 defenseman all season, Stecher provides the Maple Leafs with a cheap veteran replacement when injuries occur on the back-end.

The first domino of the John Chayka era in Toronto has fallen as the Maple Leafs acquired Emil Andrae, Samuel Ersson, and a 2026 3rd-round pick from Philadelphia for Joseph Woll and Simon Benoit. Andrea was Philadelphia's 2020 2nd round pick (54th overall) and struggled to crack their lineup consistently for the last three seasons appearing in a career high 61 games in 2025-26. He is expected to be a key part of Toronto's defensive unit for years to come and will hope to build on his two goals, 13 points and +15 plus/minus from last season.
