McCabe is a big minute eater on the Blackhawks blueline, so this void will be tough to fill for the next two or three games. Calvin de Haan is the most likely candidate to move up and play with Seth Jones while McCabe is out.

Roy was missing from the morning skate and will be a game-time decision for Thursday's game vs. the Rangers. Mark Stone is also a game-time decision for the Golden Knights.

Matthews tested positive for COVID-19 early in the week but returned negative tests since and has been cleared to play Wednesday vs. the Oilers. Matthews had a bit of a sluggish start to the season but has scored 19 goals with 12 assists (31 points) in his last 22 games.

Maccelli was expected to make his NHL debut on Tuesday but will not after testing positive for COVID-19.

Maccelli was a fourth-round pick in 2019 and has played very well in his first season in North America. Maccelli leads Tucson (AHL) with 21 points (7G / 14A) in 21 games this season.

Laughton, Carter Hart and Derick Brassard join Sean Couturier, who was added to the protocol list on Sunday. Despite losing four regulars to start the week, they are expected to get Kevin Hayes and Morgan Frost back in time for Wednesday's game.

This is the first time the Maple Leafs have been impacted by COVID-19 with Tavares and Alexander Kerfoot landing in protocol. Tavares will likely miss at least 10 days.
