Benning is battling a sickness so he will come out of the lineup vs. the Sharks. Oscar Klefbom (shoulder), who has missed the last two games, will replace him.

Jarnkrok came out of the Predators lineup on Saturday, but will draw back in for Scott Hartnell on Tuesday. Jarnkrok has picked up 16 goals and 19 assists (35 points) in 67 games this season.

Matthews was once again on the ice on Monday, but he has already been ruled out for Wednesday’s game vs. Dallas. However, head coach Mike Babcock said that he could “become an option to get back in at some point after that.” If he isn’t playing Wednesday vs. the Stars it seems unlikely that he will play in Buffalo on Thursday, but Saturday’s game vs. Montreal seems like a possibility.

Matthews will miss his sixth straight game with an upper-body injury despite practicing throughout the week. His next chance to return is Wednesday vs. the Stars or Thursday in Buffalo.

Reaves was acquired from the Penguins on Friday and will play his first game with Vegas tomorrow in Los Angeles. Reaves is not known for his offence, having picked up just eight points (4G / 4A) in 58 games this season.

The Maple Leafs already announced that Matthews would miss 7-to-10 days and his move to the IR simply opens up a roster spot for Tomas Plekanec, who they traded for on Sunday afternoon. Monitor Matthews’ status as we head into next weekend.

Dahlstrom, 23, was a second round pick (No.51 overall) in 2013 and has earned his first NHL call-up after picking up three goals and 20 assists (23 points) in 47 games with the IceHogs this season. Dahlstrom is expected to replace Michal Kempny and skate with Connor Murphy.

McCabe was hurt against Anaheim and did not return on Tuesday and will miss at least three games after undergoing thumb surgery this week. There’s no word how McCabe suffered the injury, but he recorded three blocked shots on Tuesday, so you have to think one of those shots did the damage.

McCabe left Tuesday’s game with an upper-body injury and did not return. The Sabres announced on Wednesday that he will be re-evaluated later today—making him questionable for Thursday’s game vs. the Islanders.
