Utah has signed Kailer Yamamoto to a two-year, $1.75 million AAV contract extension ($3.5M total).
After spending most of the previous season in the AHL, Yamamoto returned to playing predominantly in the NHL in 2025-26. He scored 23 points (13G / 10A) in 59 games with the Utah Mammoth, earning himself a two-year contract extension worth $3.5 million ($1.75M AAV).
Utah has acquired Joshua Roy from Montreal for Maksymilian Szuber.
Roy had a couple tastes of the NHL in 2024, 2025 and 2026 seasons, picking up 11 points (6G / 5A) across 38 total games. He spent most of the 2026 season in the AHL, where he was second on Laval in goals (23) and fourth in points (45) in 57 games. In Utah, he will likely be fringe roster option for them as the enter training camp, with the AHL or the press box being his mostly likely landing spot early in the season.
The Mammoth have acquired Sebastian Cossa from the Red Wings for the No.23 overall pick.
With Detroit already having Michal Postava and Trey Augustine in their goaltending prospect pipeline, Detroit has traded Sebastian Cossa to Utah for the No.23 overall pick (2026). The 23-year-old goaltender led Grand Rapids (AHL) with an impressive 26-8-4 record, .915 SV% and 2.33 GAA in 2025-26 and is expected to play a key role in Utah's crease in 2026-27.

Biber was Utah's 2024 4th round pick (98th overall) and has earned himself a three-year entry-level contract on Thursday. The 19-year-old Austrian defensemen spent 2025-26 with Rogle BK (SHL), and had a goal, two points and 12 PIMs in 38 games played in Sweden's top league.

Borikov was a fourth-round pick, 110th overall, by the Utah Mammoth in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. The 20-year-old forward spent the previous season in the KHL, where he scored 30 points (16G / 14A) in 59 games with Minsk Dynamo.

The Mammoth enter a must-win Game Six on Friday as slight -101 home underdogs.
