Utah has signed Michael Carcone to a two-year contract extension worth $1.75 million AAV ($3.50M total).

Carcone has had an excellent season in Utah, primarily in a bottom-six role, and has earned himself a two-year contract extension. The 29-year-old forward is averaging 12:25 time-on-ice through 66 games and has 26 points (14G / 12A), just three points short of the career-high 29 points he scored in 74 games two seasons ago.

Vejmelka will start in Vegas on Thursday.

Vejmelka will make his league-leading 53rd start of the season tonight after a rare night off on Monday. Utah's workhorse netminder has struggled a bit of late, going 0-2-1 with an .842 SV% in his last three starts. Despite the small cold streak, he still owns an impressive 30-18-3 record on the season. Vejmelka will be tested once again this evening, as the Mammoth enter action as slight underdogs at +110 on the money line.

Vanecek will start in Dallas on Monday.

Despite Karel Vejmelka being the first goalie off the ice at the Mammoth's morning skate on Monday (typically an indicator of the night's starter), it will be Vanecek who gets the start in Dallas. Vanecek's last start came back on March 9th when he allowed three goals on 26 shots in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Blackhawks. The 30-year-old netminder owns a 4-9-3 record and an .889 SV% on the season. The Mammoth enter Monday's contest as +137 road underdogs against the NHL's hottest team, the Dallas Stars, who are 14-0-1 in their last 15 games.

Utah has signed Nick Schmaltz to an eight-year extension worth $8 million AAV ($64M total).

He currently is pacing for career bests in all major offensive categories this season, with 59 points (24G / 35A) through 65 games.

The Mammoth recalled Szuber from Tucson (AHL) on Monday.

Szuber offers the Mammoth some depth on the back-end while Mikhail Sergachev is sidelined with a lower-body injury. Szuber was a sixth-round draft pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. His lone NHL appearance came back in the 2023-24 season with the Coyotes. Szuber has ten goals and 15 assists in 50 AHL games this season.

Vanecek will start in Chicago on Monday.

Vanecek has seen limited action lately, with only three starts since the beginning of January (3-0-1), but was tremendous in last week's 3-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers, saving all 16 shots he faced for his first shutout in a Utah jersey. The 30-year-old Czech goalie has a solid 2.22 GAA and .917 SV% in his last five games (2-2-1). The Mammoth enter Monday's contest as significant -222 road favourites against a Chicago Blackhawks team that lost 4-3 in overtime last night to the Dallas Stars.
