Schmaltz suffered an upper-body injury in the Coyotes game in Dallas on Wednesday. Schmaltz has been on a heater as of late, scoring four goals with three assists (seven points) on a five-game point streak.

The 26-year-old has played well despite the team in front of him (32nd in SOG/GP), with his 16-18-5 record, 3.32 GAA and .904 SV%. He will face the struggling Dallas Stars, who have lost six of their last seven games after a 5-4 overtime loss to Vancouver last game.

The 26-year-old could be playing in his final games as a Coyote with the trade deadline approaching and will look to improve on his 15-18-5 record, 3.38 GAA and .903 SV%. He takes on the Chicago Blackhawks, who snapped a five-game winning streak last night with a 4-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks.

Stauber was fantastic in his short six-game showing with the Blackhawks as he picked up a 5-1-0 record, 2.81 GAA and .911 SV% but will head back to Rockford (AHL) with the announcement that Alex Stalock (head) has been activated from the injured reserve. Stauber returns to the minors, where he was 6-4-0 with a .896 SV% and 3.06 GAA with Rockford.
