After a one-game absence, it looks like Marino will draw back into the Penguins lineup on Saturday.
Marino missed Thursday's game in New York but will be a game-time decision on Saturday afternoon. Monitor Marino's status as the Penguins hit the ice for warmups at 2:30 PM ET.
With Sean Monahan landing on LTIR over the weekend, the Flames have some new-found cap space. They used the room to recall Valimaki and Adam Ruzicka from the AHL. Valimaki has two goals and 15 assists (17 points) in 30 games with Stockton this season.
Schmidt missed three games last week while in COVID-19 protocol but was back at practice on Monday and should be in the lineup on Wednesday. Schmidt has just seven points (1G / 6A) in his last 20 games.
Crouse reportedly broke a bone in his hand while blocking a shot on Wednesday and could miss the rest of the regular season. Wednesday was a tough night for the Coyotes, who also lost Clayton Keller for the year.
Keller suffered a lower-body injury in an awkward fall into the end boards during Wednesday's win over the Sharks. Keller had to be stretchered off of the ice but tweeted last night that he was "resting comfortably at the hospital in good spirits." Keller will miss the rest of the season but is expected to be ready for the start of the 2022-23 season.
Schmidt tested positive at the rink this morning and will not be available for Wednesday's game in Buffalo. He's also in danger of missing tomorrow's game in Toronto and Saturday's game vs. the Kings. In addition to Connor, Kyle Connor was also added to the COVID-19 protocol list on Wednesday.
