Nick DeSimone will make his NHL debut Monday vs. the Islanders

DeSimone will make his NHL debut as Michael Stone was placed on the injured reserve. The undrafted 27-year-old will get his first taste of the NHL after putting up an impressive six points (1G/5A) and 12 PIMs in eight games played for the Calgary Wranglers of the AHL.

Vejmelka is coming off one of his best starts of the season, in a 32-save (.914 SV%) 3-2 overtime loss to Winnipeg over the weekend. He has struggled greatly this season, posting a 1-3-1 record along with a 4.41 GAA and .884 SV%. He should face a ton of shots Tuesday as he faces Florida, who is second in the NHL in shots per game (39.2).

Vanecek will start after winning a 20 save (.909 SV%) 6-2 performance over the Red Wings the Devils' last time out. After being acquired in the offseason, Vanecek has struggled since joining the Devils, posting a 1-1-0 record to go along with his .833 SV% and 3.43 GAA. He draws the task of facing last year's Stanley Cup Champions, the Colorado Avalanche, who are coming off two straight 3-2 victories over NYR and VGK.
