Shea Theodore (upper-body) will be out Saturday vs. Arizona.

Theodore had enjoyed an excellent start to 2023-24 with four goals, 14 assists, 52 SOG, and a +2 plus/minus in 20 games played but will be out Saturday vs. Arizona as he deals with an upper-body injury. The 28-year-old will be replaced by Brayden Pachal on the Golden Knights' blue line.

Akira Schmid will start Friday vs. Columbus.

Schmid will return to the Devils' crease on Wednesday for the first time since allowing five goals on 30 shots (.833 SV%) in a 6-3 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on November 14th. The Devils are an offensive juggernaut this season, ranking ninth in the league offensively (3.47 GF / GP), but have struggled immensely keeping the puck out of their net, regardless of who is in between the pipes, ranking fourth-worst in the league defensively (3.82 GA / GP). Schmid has shown the pedigree of an exceptional goaltender in the past but has struggled to find his footing this season, posting an ugly 3.46 GAA and .885 SV% through six games (1-3-1).

Carter Hart will start Friday vs. the New York Rangers.

Hart will start Friday afternoon as the Flyers are +124 home underdogs against the New York Rangers. Despite a 10-1-1 record in their last 12 contests, the Rangers have only scored four goals over their past two games (1-1-0). Hart has been exceptional this season but has struggled slightly over his past two contests (1-1-0), allowing six goals on 56 shots (.893 SV%), contrasting his heroic .931 SV% he registered over his seven games prior (4-2-0).

Hill will start in Dallas on Wednesday.

The Golden Knights have made a habit of rotating their two star goalies this season, but it will be Hill getting a second consecutive start in Dallas on Wednesday. Hill has enjoyed a phenomenal start to the 2023-24 season, registering a .929 SV% and a 2.07 GAA to go along with his 8-2-1 record. Hill was stellar against the Penguins in a losing effort on Sunday, stopping 30 of the 32 shots he faced in the 3-0 defeat. He draws a difficult assignment tonight with the Golden Knights being rare underdogs at +110 in Dallas.

Adin Hill
Carter Hart will start Wednesday vs. the Islanders.

Hart has been stellar, starting two consecutive games (2-0-0) since a five-game absence due to injury, saving 59 of 63 shots (.937), and will return to the crease on Wednesday against the New York Islanders. Hart has been solid all season, and his .919 SV% and 2.40 GAA currently have him pacing for the best season of his six-year career. The Flyers are +130 road underdogs but are facing an Islanders team that ranks in the bottom half of the league defensively (3.24 GA / GP) after being a top-five team for most of the last decade.

Hill will start Thursday's game in Montreal.

Hill is coming off a 20-save shutout, his second of the season, in a 5-0 victory over the San Jose Sharks on November 10th. The Western Conference-leading Golden Knights have faltered a little, losing three of their last four, but will look to get back into the win column on Thursday as -192 road favourites against a Montreal Canadiens team that has been outscored 7-3 in their last two contests (0-2-0). The 27-year-old Hill has been nothing short of spectacular this season, posting a remarkable 1.75 GAA and .939 SV% through nine contests (7-1-1).

Carter Hart will start Wednesday in Carolina.

Hart will start for the Flyers on Wednesday, marking his first game action since November 1st, when he allowed two goals on five shots. Hart was originally out of the lineup with a mid-boy injury and, more recently, dealing with an illness. The Flyers managed to hold down the fort in Hart's absence, posting a 3-2-0 record, but will be thrilled to have their workhorse goaltender back in the mix. The 25-year-old Hart is in the midst of his best season in four years, boasting a 2.52 GAA and .913 SV% through eight games (4-3-0). Hart will be thrown to the lions in his return to action as the Flyers are sizeable +218 road underdogs against a Carolina Hurricanes team coming off a dominant 4-0 shutout victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Schmid will start in Winnipeg on Tuesday.

Schmid played well coming in relief of Vitek Vanecek on Friday, saving 20 of 21 shots (.952 SV%) in a 4-2 loss to the Washington Capitals and will receive only his second start since October 26th. The Devils expected to operate with an even timeshare in their crease, but early struggles for Schmid quickly put that idea to rest. In five games (1-2-1), Schmid has a 3.09 GAA and .898 SV%. Despite his struggles, Vanecek has been far from perfect this season, and a strong performance from Schmid against the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday could go a long way in securing him more game-action.

Raphael Lavoie has been loaned to Springfield (AHL).

Lavoie has yet to pick up a point through five games with Edmonton but had three SOG and a -1 plus/minus and has been loaned to Springfield (AHL) on Tuesday. The 23-year-old winger returns to Springfield, where he was on a heater prior to his promotion with four goals, three assists, 17 PIMs and a +1 plus/minus.
