Marner was hurt on Wednesday and missed today’s practice, which puts his status for Saturday’s game in serious jeopardy. Head coach Mike Babcock called the rookie “day-to-day” and will likely have more on him after Saturday’s morning skate.
Marner was hurt when he went hard into the side boards, but took his next shift before eventually retiring to the dressing room for the night. Marner played just 9:56 TOI and is questionable for Saturday’s game vs. the Senators. Monitor his status as the week progresses.
Hutton has been sidelined by a fracture in his hand since January 6th, but will be back in tonight in Nashville. Hutton has collected 11 points (4G / 7A) in 41 games so far this season. Philip Larsen will be the healthy scratch with Hutton returning.
Theodore might set a record for the most call-ups in a season at this rate. The 21-year-old has just eight points (1G / 7A) in 25 games with the Ducks and nine points (1G / 8A) in 13 games with the Gulls.
Barbashev, 21, was a second round pick (No. 33 overall) in 2014 and this is his first NHL call-up. With Kyle Brodziak out for five weeks, Barbashev will get a chance to make his NHL debut. The Russian centre has picked up 19 goals and 18 assists (37 points) in 44 games with Chicago this season.
Theodore continues to be sent down, called up, sent down and called back up to help save money. The 21-year-old has seven points (1G / 6A) in 23 games with the Ducks and nine points (1G / 8A) in 11 games with San Diego (AHL).
Hutton will miss his fifth consecutive game on Tuesday and will miss at least three weeks. With Hutton out until at least early-February, look for Alex Biega to remain in the lineup going forward.
Theodore was a healthy scratch on Sunday and was sent to San Diego for a day for salary cap savings. Theodore could draw back into the lineup on Tuesday—he comes in with seven points (1G / 6A) in 23 games this season.
Theodore, 21, has split his season between the NHL and AHL. In 21 games with the Ducks he has six points (1G / 5A) and has picked up nine points (1G / 8A) in 11 games with the Gulls. He swaps places with Brandon Montour and should be in the lineup on Thursday.
Hutton was held out of Saturday’s game in Calgary and head coach Willie Desjardins said that Hutton will be “out for a bit.” The Canucks had to play with five defenseman on Saturday, so expect them to recalled someone before Tuesday’s game.
Theodore has been a healthy scratch in three of the last six games and with Brandon Montour up and playing well, Theodore will return to San Diego to get more playing time.
Smith left last Frida’s game vs. the Red Wings with a concussion and is expected to miss some time, starting with tomorrow’s game vs. the Maple Leafs. With Smith out, Nick Bjugstad will move up in to the top-6.
Stone missed the Senators' morning skate because of an illness and will be a game-time decision vs. the Ducks. Monitor Stone's status when the Senators hit the ice for warmups at 7:00 pm ET.
Sissons has missed the last seven games with an upper-body injury, but will return to the lineup tonight vs. the Blues. Sissons has two goals and one assist while averaging 10:18 TOI/GM in 19 contests so far this season.
Eichel tweaked his ankle in last night’s loss in Washington, but he said he is fine and will play tonight vs. the Oikers. Eichel has played well in his first four games of the season, posting three goals and one assist. Expect a strong performance tonight as he goes head to head with Connor McDavid.
After missing the first 21 games of the season with an ankle injury, Eichel will play tonight vs. the Senators. Eichel had a strong rookie season, having picked up 24 goals and 32 assists (56 points) in 81 games and he will start his 2016-17 season on a line with Evander Kane and Sam Reinhart.
