Eichel tweaked his ankle in last night’s loss in Washington, but he said he is fine and will play tonight vs. the Oikers. Eichel has played well in his first four games of the season, posting three goals and one assist. Expect a strong performance tonight as he goes head to head with Connor McDavid.
Lehner allowed two goals on 33 shots in the Sabres’ loss to the Bruins on Saturday. Lehner has played very well this season, posting a 2.38 GAA and .922 SV% in 17 starts, but that has only translated into five wins. Tonight he starts in Washington—he is 4-4-1 with a 2.47 GAA and .921 SV% on the road so far.
Lehner allowed one goal on six shots before leaving Tuesday’s game with a hip injury. Lehner got Thursday night off, but will be back in goal tonight vs. the Bruins. Lehner is just 1-3-2 with a 2.29 GAA and .920 SV% on home-ice this season and he allowed four goals on 42 shots in a losing effort in his first start vs. Boston.
Lehner left Tuesday’s game with a hip injury after allowing one goal on six shots. Sabres’ head coach Dan Bylsma said that Lehner is day-to-day and they don’t know if they will need to recall a goalie prior to Thursday’s game vs. the Rangers.
After missing the first 21 games of the season with an ankle injury, Eichel will play tonight vs. the Senators. Eichel had a strong rookie season, having picked up 24 goals and 32 assists (56 points) in 81 games and he will start his 2016-17 season on a line with Evander Kane and Sam Reinhart.
Lehner gave up one goal on 24 shots in a losing effort vs. the Red Wings last Wednesday. Anders Nilsson started on Friday, but they’ll come back to Lehner vs. his former team in Ottawa. He has already faced the Senators twice this season, going 1-0-1 with a great 0.96 GAA and .968 SV%. Lehner has also gone 4-4-1 with a2.44 GAA and .923 SV% on the road this season.
Eichel has not played in a game this season because of a preseason ankle injury, but he skated on the second line and on the top power-play at Monday’s practice. Head coach Dan Bylsma said it is possible for Eichel to make his debut tomorrow, so monitor his status during the morning skate.
Theodore, 21, has split his season between the AHL and NHL and has been a yo-yo for the Ducks so far. Theodore has picked up seven assists in nine games with San Diego and one assist in eight games with the Ducks.
Eichel had been skating on his own prior to Wednesday, but he joined the Sabres for his first practice session since getting injured a few days before the season started. Eichel won’t play tonight, but is only expected to miss 3-5 more games before making his season debut. This is massive news for the Sabres, who currently sit last in the NHL in goal scoring.
Lehner allowed two goals on 31 shots in the Sabres’ win over the Flames on Monday. The win snapped a personal five-game losing streak for Lehner, who will face the Red Wings tonight. Lehner has gone 1-3-1 with a 2.59 GAA and .914 SV% in his first five starts on home-ice in 2016-17.
Hertl is expected to miss a few weeks with a knee injury, so moving him to IR was simply a formality to create a roster spot to recall Daniel O’Regan from San Jose (AHL).
Lehner allowed four goals on 38 shots in the Sabres’ loss to the Lightning on Thursday. After a nice stretch of games, Lehner has now dropped his last five starts while posting a 3.15 GAA and .904 SV%. Tonight he takes on a Flames team that is on the tail-end of a back-to-back, but have won three of their last four.
Hertl has returned to San Jose and will miss Saturday’s game and possibly more depending on the result of his MRI. With Hertl out, Michael Haley will draw into the lineup and rookie Kevin LaBanc will skate on the top-line with Joe Thornton and Joe Pavelski.
Lehner allowed three goals on 30 shots in the Sabres’ loss in St. Louis on Tuesday. Lehner has now lost four straight games (0-3-1) while posting a 2.94 GAA and .906 SV%. Tonight Lehner will face a Lightning team that has won three of their last four games, but they come into tonight without Steven Stamkos, who is out with a knee injury.
Lehner allowed four goals on 27 shots in the Sabres loss in New Jersey on Saturday. It was one of Lehner’s worst outings of the season, but that won’t deter the Sabres from going back to him tonight in St. Louis. Lehner has a 2-3-1 record, 2.15 GAA and .931 SV% in November, but is a risky start tonight.
Eichel is nearly four weeks into a 6-8 week timetable, but his return to the ice on Thursday is a great sign that he is recovering on schedule. It appears as if Eichel is on-pace to return to the lineup in late November/early-December. Monitor Eichel’s progression over the next few weeks.
Lehner allowed one goal on 29 shots in the Sabres’ shootout loss to the Senators on Wednesday. Anders Nilsson started last night, so Lehner will face the Devils on the road this season. Lehner has won three of his last six starts with a 1.65 GAA and .950 SV%. The 25-year-old has also been impressive on the road, going 4-2-1 with a 2.14 GAA and .934 SV%.
Lehner gave up four goals on 42 shots in the Sabres’ loss in Boston on Monday. Despite the loss, the Sabres will go back to Lehner tonight vs. his former team. Lehner stopped 32 of 33 shots in a 2-1 win over the Senators on the weekend and comes in with a 3-2-0 record, 1.81 GAA and .947 SV% over his last five starts.
