The Blue Jackets have recalled Sonny Milano from Lake Erie (AHL).

Milano, 19, was the Blue Jackets first round pick (16th overall) in 2014. The young winger has registered 12 goals and 15 assists (27 points) in 48 games with Lake Erie this season. He could make his NHL debut in the Blue Jackets’ final six games of the regular season.

Carlson (lower-body) travelled to New Jersey and could return to the lineup on Friday.

Carlson has been sidelined by a lower-body since February 24th, but it looks like he will return to the lineup tonight in New Jersey. Carlson’s status will not be known until head coach Barry Trotz meets with the media around 5 p.m. ET. Carlson has 31 points (6G / 25A) in 47 games this season.

The Kings have recalled Nic Dowd from Ontario (AHL).

Dowd, 25, was a seventh round pick (198th overall) in 2009. He has collected 13 goals and 35 assists (48 points) in 57 games with Ontario this season. With Kris Versteeg out, he has been recalled for depth but could make his NHL debut on Tuesday.

Carlson will miss 3-4 weeks after undergoing a procedure on his lower-body injury.

Carlson has had a great season, but will miss an extended period of time for the second time this season. Carlson underwent a procedure on his unspecified lower-body injury and will keep him out for 3-4 weeks. He is expected to be moved to long-term IR but should be back before the playoffs.

Ovechkin will not play Tuesday due to one-game suspension for skipping the All-Star Game.

Ovechkin missed the All-Star game due to a nagging lower-body injury, so he has to serve a one-game suspension but is expected to return to the lineup on Thursday. With Ovechkin out, look for Stanislav Galiev to be back in the lineup tomorrow.

Carlson was always considered doubtful for today’s matinee but now he has officially been ruled out of his seventh consecutive game. He remains questionable for Sunday’s contest. The Capitals will not have a morning skate, so we won’t know Carlson’s status until head coach Barry Trotz meets with the media.
