Ovechkin has missed the last four games with a lower-body injury but will be a game-time decision on Monday, so monitor his status as the Capitals hit the ice for warmups at 6:30 PM ET.
Holl (face) will not play Monday in Montreal.
Holl took a puck to the face in Saturday's win over the Canucks and will not be available for Monday's game in Montreal. Head coach Sheldon Keefe said he doesn't expect Holl to miss too much time beyond Monday. With Holl out, look for Timothy Liljegren to draw back into the lineup.
Liljegren will make his season debut on Thursday.
The 2017 No.17 overall pick has scored two goals with seven assists (nine points) in 14 games. Liljegren will replace Jake Muzzin, who will be given a maintenance evening. Liljegren has one assist in 11 career NHL games.

Strome will be back in the Blackhawks lineup on Tuesday.
Strome was a healthy scratch in the last two games but will draw back into the lineup on Tuesday. Strome will play centre, so look for him to be on the third line with Dominik Kubalik as the Blackhawks go back to 12 forwards and six defensemen.

Ovechkin was not on the ice for Monday's practice or Tuesday's morning skate and will miss his second consecutive game tonight vs. the Islanders. With Ovechkin sidelined, Daniel Sprong will remain on the top line and Tom Wilson will be on PP1.

Sandin has only appeared in one game this season but is expected to replace Travis Dermott on the third pairing and skate on PP2. Sandin has one goal and eight assists (nine points) in 29 career NHL games.

MacDonald has served his two-game suspension and will return to the Avalanche lineup on Monday.
Carlsson will be a healthy scratch on Monday.
Carlsson was a minus-1 in 14:08 TOI on Saturday but will be replaced by Dean Kukan in the lineup on Monday.
Carlsson will draw into the Blue Jackets lineup on Saturday.
Carlsson has been out of the lineup for the last six games but will replace Dran Kukan in the lineup on Saturday. Carlson has one goal, two assists and a minus-4 rating in 12 games this season.
MacDonald was suspended for two games for hiss check to the head on Ryan Hartman.
The two-game suspension means that MacDonald will not be available for Friday or Sunday's games in Anaheim. With MacDonald out, look for Daniel Renouf to draw back into the lineup.
The Blue Jackets have placed Boone Jenner on IR with a broken finger.
Jenner is expected to miss six weeks after breaking his finger on Tuesday. With Jenner out on Thursday, Eric Robinson is expected to get a look in the Blue Jackets' top-6.
Roy was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list and will not play Saturday.
Strome (personal) will return to the Blackhawks lineup on Tuesday.
Strome missed Sunday's game vs. the Predators due to the birth of his child but is set to play on Tuesday. It's unclear who he'll line up with, but he skated with Kirby Dach and Mattias Janmark in his most recent game. Strome has one goal on six shots in five games since returning to the Blackhawks lineup on March 18th.
