Hellebuyck allowed three goals on 32 shots in the Jets win over the Flyers on Sunday. In his last seven starts (+ 2 relief appearances) Hellebuyck has gone 6-1-1 with a 2.09 GAA, .934 SV% and one shutout, but draws a tough assignment with the Hurricanes in town. DeMelo broke his finger late in Wednesday's game in Montreal and will be out until early-January. This is a huge blow for the Senators, who lose arguably their most consistent/reliable defenseman of 2019-20. Erik Brannstom could be summoned from the AHL to replace DeMelo.

Comrie stopped all four shots that he faced after replacing Jonathan Bernier in the Red Wings' loss to the Penguins on Saturday. Tonight he will make his first start with Detroit and it will come against the team that drafted him. Comrie is 4-0-0 with a 2.75 GAA and .900 SV% in four AHL games this season and the Jets have won eight of their last 11 (8-2-1) while scoring 3.27 goals per game.

Hellebuyck has been tremendous since mid-November, going 7-1-1 with a 1.95 GAA, .941 SV% and one shutout in his last 10 appearances (eight starts). Hellebuyck is clearly the top goalie option on Thursday.

With Jimmy Howard hurt, Comrie could join the Red Wings immediately and serve as Jonathan Bernier's backup.

Namestnikov missed the last three games with a lower-body injury but will play Friday in Minnesota. Namestnikov, who has 12 points (6G / 6A) in 22 games this season, will skate with Artem Anisimov and Connor Brown on the Senators' third-line.
