The Cheat Sheet: February 2nd, 2011

Gather around hockey fans and devoted gamblers, it’s time for our daily meeting before we go off and make some potentially regrettable decisions with our money. Today on the docket: 6 games, sorted into Gold picks, Silver Picks, Bronze Picks, and black lumps of coal.

Let’s see how today’s numbers break down, using the trusty database-recall system.

Wednesday’s Sheet: (Goalies updated 12PM PT)

Last night: “Yeah, just relax. I see it too, OK?… Florida is the Gold pick. Now before any Habs fans go ballistic/start crying, let me just say that betting MTL -175 doesn’t seem to be all that appealing, so it’s pretty much FLA +150ish or nothing in this game, anyway… I think that this is actually a decent spot to catch Montreal flat, after a significant comeback win in Washington.”

– This morning: “Wait for it… and Alex Auld is the starter. Commence the massive line movement. He’ll have to rebound (mentally) from a horrendous outing vs Calgary.

– For me, the one to think about is actually Anaheim -120 at home. Such a short price for such a good home team.

Agree with the Gold pick? Disagree with it? See a betting line on the board that seems wrong? You know what to do (fill up the comment section).
