The Cheat Sheet: January 21st, 2011

With just 4 games on the board today, the computer barely managed to scrape together 3 picks to recommend playing. In fact, today’s Silver and Bronze plays are rated so value-less that they might as well be salvaged for scrap metal. Today’s Gold play, however, brings plenty of projected value, although even this play will probably not be able to escape both debate and skepticism.

Let’s take a look.

The big issue with today’s Gold pick, is that Dallas is likely to get vastly outshot by a highly motivated opponent. The Stars usually get outshot night-in-night-out to begin with, but it’s up in the air whether or not they’ll be able to survive this expected onslaught. Before the game though, I did have the line as a pick’em in my mind, so there does appear to be line value with the Stars here. I can also see a pretty solid case for the Flames here as well though.
