The Cheat Sheet: April 5th, 2011

Gather around hockey fans and devoted gamblers, it’s time for our daily meeting before we go off and make some potentially regrettable decisions with our money. Today on the docket: 9 games, sorted into Gold picks, Silver Picks, Bronze Picks, and black lumps of coal.

Let’s see how today’s numbers break down, using the trusty database-recall system.

Tuesday’s Sheet:

– Now that we’re near the end of the season, I think it’s worth looking out for games that don’t have any playoff implications, as more often than not, these matchups will turn into games of pond hockey (no defense). COL/STL probably would have been a pretty solid Over play during the middle of the season anyway, but I think it might be even better now that neither team needs the win.

– Also, Chicago to bounce back from a shutout loss? I think so. The Hawks were beat up on the scoreboard on Sunday, but they actually outshot the Lightning 31-15. They’re still a good hockey team, despite some of their discouraging recent results.

– Speaking of ‘discouraging recent results’, I’m plenty aware of my recent gambling losses. It’s not my fault that the hockey gods hate me (or is it?).

Agree with the Gold pick? Disagree with it? See a betting line on the board that seems wrong? You know what to do (fill up the comment section).
