Vincent Lecavalier Returns to Face Devils

Lecavalier is officially back in the lineup according to the Tampa Bay Lightning’s Twitter account. No further word on where he plays– the big man could play with Stamkos and St. Louis on the top line or center the second scoring unit. Fantasy hockey owners eagerly awaiting his return should put him back in the lineup.

3/15/12: It has been four weeks since we last talked about Vincent Lecavalier, making him due for an update.

Lecavalier will miss the rest of the week according to Erik Erlendsson of The Tampa Times, via Twitter. Erlendsson did mention, however, that next week could be an option for the Lightning captain. Without him in the lineup, the Bolts have climbed into the playoff picture, sitting only seven points back of eighth seed Washington. Getting a player of his stature would certainly bolster their chances of making the postseason, and of Steven Stamkos winning the Hart for that matter.

2/21/12: This morning, the Lightning announced that Lecavalier would be out indefinitely. Safe to say you shouldn’t dress him in your lineups tonight.

According to Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Tribune, via Twitter, the big man will not require surgery or a cast. Nevertheless, he is expected to miss a few games.

Tampa Bay Lightning captain Vincent Lecavalier will not play Tuesday evening when the Bolts take on the Anaheim Ducks reports TampaBay.com’s Damian Cristodero. The big center was unable to complete the team’s practice and instead left to undergo an MRI exam.

This injury sounds somewhat serious so be prepared for the worst. Lecavalier hasn’t missed a game before this infliction.
