Williams Regains Spot on Wings Powerplay

As expected forward Jason Williams will replace Mikael Samuelsson as Niklas Kronwall’s partner on the point of the Red Wings second powerplay unit. MLive.com reports Wing’s coach Mike Babcock announced this during training camp Sunday. Williams, who signed a one year deal with the Detroit this offseason, is quite familar with the role as he saw a great deal of time there during his 5 seasons in Detroit. Williams had 29 points in 39 games last season with the Blue Jackets. He has been playing on a line with rookie Ville Leino and center Valterri Filppula so far in camp. A pretty good third line I must say.
