Wings’ Offense Dealt Blow: Franzen Out 4 Months

Red Wings FranzenAll of the people doubting the Wings’ ability to reproduce their goal totals from last season will get louder now as the Wings are forced to play without top-liner Johan Franzen for four months.  Franzen suffered an ACL tear in his left knee in yesterday’s 3-2 win against Chicago.  It’s a tough deal for Detroit and it’ll be interesting to see who gets the opportunity to step up and take a more prominent role in the offense.  Adjust your fantasy lineups accordingly.  On a positive note, F Darren Helm is set to return soon from his AC sprain suffered in the preseason.
