Wings Welcome Miller…no not that one

The Red Wings have claimed forward and younger brother of Sabres goaltender Drew Miller off of waivers from the Tampa Bay Lightning. With Red Wings forwards (Franzen, Filppula, Williams) dropping like flies so far this season Miller will provide some depth for the team and could find himself a spot on the 4th line while the aforementioned players are out.

Miller, 25,  was originally a 6th round pick of the Ducks in 2003.  He was traded from the Ducks to the Lightning for Evgeny Artyukhin prior to this season.  In 67 career NHL games Miller has score 6 times and has 9 assists.  He had no points in his 14 games this season with the Lightning.

Drew and his brother Ryan played at Michigan State University.  Now only if Drew can convince Ryan to come to Detroit…
