Yotes’ captain Shane Doan will return against Canucks

Shane Doan will return tonight as the Phoenix Coyotes go for sixth consecutive win against the Vancouver Canucks.  Doan has missed the last seven games with a lower-body injury and will likely take the place of British Columbia native Kyle Turris, who is out with an upper-body injury.

The Phoenix Coyotes will be without Shane Doan for an extended period of time due to a lower-body injury suffered in a collision with Dallas’ defenseman Nicklas Grossman on Friday evening.

The team will re-evaluate Doan’s status later in the week, but it appears he will miss extended playing time.  This injury adds to an already disappointing start of the season for Doan, who has missed time serving a three-game suspension due to a hit on Anaheim’s Dan Sexton.

Doan has scored just one goal this season and has three points over nine games played this season. The lines for the Coyotes based on last night’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins are posted here.

Check back later for updated on Doan’s injury status.
