The Blackhawks have recalled Peter Regin from Rockford (AHL).

Regin, 28, is a versatile forward who had four points (2G / 2A) in 17 games with the Hawks last season. He will likely be with the team for a few weeks with Patrick Sharp sidelined with a leg injury. Expect him to skate on the fourth line on Friday.

The Blackhawks have re-signed Peter Regin to a one-year contract worth $650K.

Regin had four points (2G / 2A) in 17 games with the Blackhawks after being acquired from the Islanders. He suited up in just five postseason games, recording no points. The Hawks have signed him to a cheap contract that will provide them with some depth down the middle.

Peter Regin
Regin will make his Blackhawks' postseason debut on Sunday.

With Brandon Bollig suspended, Regin will enter the lineup in game 5 tonight. Regin will centre the fourth line tonight, but will need to shake off the cobwebs, after not playing since April 12th. Regin was playing solid minutes as the regular-season ended, part of a third line with Bryan Bickell and Jeremy Morin. He was a plus-3 in his final four regular-season games.

Peter Regin
Regin took the morning skate off to rest, but he is expected to play Thursday.

Regin has one goal on six shots in three games since being traded to the Blackhawks. He will centre the third line with Kris Versteeg and Bryan Bickell on his flanks.

The Chicago Blackhawks acquired wing Peter Regin and center Pierre-Marc Bouchard from the New York Islanders in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft on Thursday night.

Regin will report to the Blackhawks, he has played in 44 games with the Islanders this season; he has two goals and five assists and is a minus-10. Regin was selected by the Ottawa Senators in the third round of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. According to Pierre LeBrun, the Islanders retain 50 percent of the salary/cap hit for both Bouchard and Regin. Regin is on a one-year deal worth $750,000.

Peter Regin
Regin will re-enter the lineup for Pierre-Marc Bouchard who was placed on waivers earlier on Monday.

Regin served as a healthy scratch in Saturday's loss to the Kings. The former Senator has averaged 12:11 TOI in 28 games this season while registering only one goal and three assists with a minus-4 rating. He is not fantasy relevant in any format. He will skate with Michael Grabner and Cal Clutterbuck to start tonight's game.

Peter Regin had surgery on his left shoulder in Toronto; out 4-6 months and for the season

Regin has yet another surgery which will knock him out for the season. At this rate, it would not be shocking for the Danish forward to miss a good chunk of next year too.

SAN JOSE – General manager Bryan Murray said it looks like Peter Regin is done for the season with the injury to his left shoulder. He hasn’t decided to have surgery, but it nonetheless appears as if he won’t be back.

Very safe to drop Regin at this point. With the addition of Kyle Turris, the Danish center was unlikely to see valuable playing time.

Regin is out indefinitely;

Regin just can't stay on the ice as he is expected to miss another significant chunk of playing time. The Danish center has only played in 10 games due to an injury earlier in the year. Look for Stephane Da Costa to get another look on the third line.

Peter Regin
Regin will play with Foligno and Alfredsson.

Regin gets back into the lineup for the first time since October 20th. Prior to going down, the Danish center looked like a fit in the Sens' new system with a goal and three points.

Peter Regin
Prior to practice, Chris Neil and Peter Regin skated with coach Luke Richardson, working on skating, puckhandling and passing.

Regin getting on the ice is a good sign for the Sens, who could use some more depth up front. Prior to getting hurt he scored a goal and three points in five games as the second line center. Expect the Danish pivot to return over the next few weeks.

Peter Regin
Regin officially out 6-8 weeks.

Doesn't sound like Regin will be playing any time soon as the Sens remain coy on their second line center. Through five games the Danish pivot posted a goal and three points. Look for Stephane Da Costa to fill in for him on the second line.

Peter Regin
Coach Paul MacLean acknowledged yesterday that Regin, who looked like a natural fit for the number two centre spot on the team, is seeking a second opinion on how to proceed. It is possible that Regin could once again opt for surgery. He had surgery on the same shoulder late last season, after being hit into the boards by Joey Crabb of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Peter Regin will meet with doctors later today and could have a better idea on his prognosis. Shoulder is still in pain.

With Regin out, Stephane Da Costa will remain the team's second line center. The Danish center looked somewhat back-to-normal through five games, registering a goal and three points. Stay tuned for a further update on his status.

Maclean: Regin has reinjured the same shoulder. Out for tomorrow and is having further tests. #Sens

Tough break for Regin, who battled injuries and inconsistency for the last two seasons. Look for Zenon Konopka to play on a more regular basis barring any callup from the team.
