Gaudette has been recalled from Springfield (AHL) and will make his season debut Thursday.

Gaudette has been recalled from the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL) in correspondence to Kasperi Kapanen (knee) being placed on the injured reserve. In 37 games with Springfield, Gaudette has 36 points (24G / 12A). He is expected to make his Blues' debut Thursday on their third line.

Adam Gaudette signed a one-year, two-way contract extension ($775,000/$400,000) through the 2023-24 season.

Gaudette had 27 goals, 24 assists, 57 PIMs and a +7 plus/minus through 65 games with both Toronto (AHL) and Springfield (AHL) and has signed a one-year, two-way contract extension ($775,000/$400,000) through the 2023-24 season. The 26-year-old centre was acquired by the Blues as part of the Ryan O'Reilly trade and has 70 points (27G/43A) across 218 career NHL games played.

The Blues have acquired Adam Gaudette, Mikhail Abramov, a 2023 1st round pick, a 2024 2nd round pick, and a 2023 3rd round pick from the Maple Leafs in a three-team trade also involving the Wild.

Gaudette signed a one-year deal with the Maple Leafs in July and has spent the entire season in the AHL. In 40 games with the Marlies, Gaudette racked up 20 goals and 14 assists (34 points). With two centres being dealt off the Blues' roster, there's a chance that Gaudette reports to St. Louis. The 26-year-old has 70 points (27G / 43A) in 218 career NHL games with the Canucks, Blackhawks and Senators.

Gaudette will make his season debut Friday in New Jersey.

Gaudette was a healthy scratch in the Blackhawks season opener but will replace Ryan Carpenter in the lineup on Friday. Gaudette impressed after being traded to Chicago late last season, scoring one goal with three assists in just seven games. However, a bottom-6 role likely won't lead to a whole lot of production in 2021-22.

The Blackhawks have signed Adam Gaudette to a one-year, $997.5k contract extension.

Gaudette was acquired from the Canucks for Matthew Highmore in April and contributed one goal and three assists in seven games with the Blackhawks. Gaudette will be battling with the likes of Henrik Borgstrom, Brett Connolly and Alex Nylander for playing time in 2021-22.

The Blackhawks have acquired Adam Gaudette from the Canucks for Matthew Highmore.

This seems like odd timing to trade Gaudette if you're the Canucks. Gaudette had a solid 2020 campaign, posting 33 points (12G / 21A) in 59 games but they've sold low on him, with him picking up just seven points (4G / 3A) in 33 games. Gaudette has some offensive upside but has been tough to trust in his own end. For the Blackhawks, it's a very low-risk investment.

Gaudette was added to the COVID-19 protocol list on Tuesday.

Gaudette was on the ice for the start of Tuesday's practice but was pulled immediately once the results of his test came back positive. Gaudette will undergo further testing to determine if it was a false positive but this doesn't bode well for him playing on Wednesday.
