Dainius Zubrus News

All the lines remain the same, just no one centering 2nd line with Zubrus out. That would seem to indicate Devs expect to have Zubrus Sat.

Zubrus is resting today but probably plays tomorrow. He has 15 goals and 31 points in 54 games. Don't expect him to miss any playing time.

Dainius Zubrus was moved to left wing on the third line with Ryan Carter and Nick Palmieri.

Zubrus continues to shuffle around the lineup, as he has most of his Devils career. The veteran has eight goals and 14 points in 28 games which makes him a nice option in deeper leagues.

Zubrus was struck with a shot in the ankle with 15:08 left in the third period. He limped to the bench, but returned to play after that and finish out the game.

Apparently the injury is worse after the game and Zubrus will need X-rays on his wounded ankle. Expect a further update on the versatile veteran.

The good news is that Zubrus said he was OK after the game. Although he admitted he was “out of it” briefly when he was on the ice, he said he felt the need to go to the quiet room for head injury observation after the hit because he felt fine once he reached the bench.

Doesn't sound like Zubrus will miss any playing time. Thus far, the versatile forward has scored four goals and eight points through 17 games.

Zubrus moves from the top line to Kovalchuk's center.Through five games, the Elektrenai struggled to find offensive chemistry with any line with no points and a minus-2 rating. Look for him to pick it up with his talented linemates.

Zubrus has been nursing a lower-body injury and has not practiced with the team for a week. He also skated before Tuesday’s practice.

Sounds like Zubrus continues to progress but still has not skated with his linemates. With Travis Zajac already out the Devils will continue using caution with their veteran forward. The former 15th overall pick scored 13 goals and 30 points last year for the lowly Devils. Right now Petr Sykora has taken his spot on the top two lines which would indicate his place is safe upon returning.
