Scheifele is in the NHL's COVID-19 protocol.

A few days after it was announced that Blake Wheeler tested positive for COVID-19, Scheiefle enters COVID-19 protocol. This will leave the Jets without two-thirds of their top-line when they take on the Ducks on Thursday. Look for Pierre-Luc Dubois and Paul Stastny to play increased roles with Scheifele out.

Scheifele (suspension) will not play Wednesday vs. the Ducks.

Scheifele will serve the final game of his suspension that was handed down by the NHL during the postseason for his hit on Jake Evans. With Scheifele out for the season opener, Paul Stastny is expected to centre the Jets' top line and Pierre-Luc Dubois should see time on PP1.

Scheifele (upper-body) will miss at least the next two games.

Scheifele will miss his third and fourth consecutive games as he’s been ruled out for the remainder of the Jets’ road-trip. Scheifele was on the ice with a no-contact sweater on Monday, which suggests he could be ready when the Jets return home vs. Chicago on Thursday.

Scheifele left Tuesday’s game with an upper-body injury and did not return.

Scheifele was hurt in a collision with teammate Blake Wheeler in the first period and stiffened up on the bench. The Jets are locked into a playoff spot so they don’t need to risk Scheifele suffering further injury. Their No.1 centre will be re-evaluated on Wednesday and he should be considered questionable heading into Thursday’s game in New Jersey.

Scheifele (upper-body) will not play Tuesday; could return on Friday.

Scheifele was on the ice for Monday’s practice but is not quite ready to play tomorrow. Scheifele appears to be on track to play Friday vs. St. Louis. Monitor the Jets’ No.1 centre’s status as the week progresses.
